Deez Nuts

hi.

Was trying to remove my front coilovers today, and i think the front lower nuts have crapped themselves as i cant tighten or loosen them.

The car is a 34 gtt coupe.

any suggestions on how i can go about removing them?

Don't be so sure they have crapped themselves, they are just tight as all shit usually. Hit it with some WD40 a few times and then just use your muscles lol

its not that they are tight.

they are pretty easy to turn.

its just i think ive been turning it for ages and it hasnt come off, nor does it tighten so much that it will not move

Oh, if that's the case then it could be nasty. Not sure what the deal is, mine were just very very tight when I put my coilovers in.

I just did mine before, they are tight, but put some muscle into it and it will come off, use some penetrating oil as well, it will help lots.

17mm deep socket worked the best for me, along with a breaker bar.

are you sure it isn't slipping?

Mine felt like they were turning, but turns out it was just the shitty socket.

So went to Super cheap and got a decent socket.

sounds like its not catching on the thread. try jamming a screw driver in between the nut and the coilover body while unscrewing to push it out?

Are you removing or installing? Same thing happened to mine when installing, thread was destroyed and had to remove upright with coilover and cut the nut off then get a new upright and nut

seems like you've striped the thread on the nut, try to lever the nut out with a flat head while undoing the nut, or vise grips or... grinder
