Hey guys been havin some troublemwith my r33.

When driving on the freeway just cruising at 100 engine starts to heat up and only settles once I drop back to about 80.

This also happens when I have been driving a bit excited ad then stop at lights and take off it seems to heat up once again.

I just need some opinions on what could be the problem

Cheers for any insight guys

Possible faulty thermostat not opening quick enough?

Mines faulty the other way opening to quickly so the car cools down below operating temp at certain times

The part isn't to expensive might be worth changing it anyway and seeing if that solves you problem

For those symptoms, its likely to be a blocked radiator, or if you have a huge front mount, it may be blocking air the the radiator.

Could possibly be a stuck thermostat as Stig says, but AFAIK they typically present as stuck closed. I guess you could take it out, put it in a sausepan of cold water on the stove and check that its fully open when the water is boiling.

Definitely wont be clutch fan or shrouding.

Of course we're assuming its got proper coolant and been bled, and that you're not loosing any coolant from a leak.

Yeah Thats what I was thinking man good too get a second opinion cheers man

And yeah bled it and change coolant and no leaks

It also picks the revs up when it starts to get hot which is odd.

It's very tempremental as well was just driving back from work and didn't over heat o play any silly buggers

It could also be a failing water pump. Lack of use of coolant (generally by the previous Japanese owner) causes the impellers on the pump to disintegrate, and the coolant doesn't get circulated very well.

waterpump was changed not that long ago but one of those things you can't really check unless you take it apart.

I figure I'm just gonna re do the cooling system I dare say after 14 years things arnt in the best of nick.
