666DAN
Get the N/A R34 They feel nice and solid and are a great car to drive, moreso than the N/A R33 and are better equipped. With the current market you should be able to pick up something decent for your money. w34ponGT
this is how my r34 N/A was looking. to be honest, and not being modest, mine was the best r34 gt/gtt shell going around melbourne (besides the black one with eastbear bodykit) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/370213-r33-or-r34/page/3/#findComment-5903326 Share on other sites
lincellusion
WOOWWWWw that car looks FREEKIN awesome. I have always known R34's are gr8, but why have I never really taken them into account when wanting a car? I dunno why I only wanted an R33, the 34 is soo much better looking I love its squared end. Is an R34 gt better then R33 gts series 2? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/370213-r33-or-r34/page/3/#findComment-5904059 Share on other sites

Darmanin10
if you have just under 20K i would consider S2000, NA Supra MKIV, RX8, Integra Type R, Magna Ralliart, XR6, SV6. These are probably the best cars, in terms of performance, you can drive on your p's. However you seem pretty keen on getting an R34 or R33. I would say get an R34 for roughly 12K, and with left over money, maybe make it look nice. The R34 will give you decent performance (assuming you dont expect it too beat the above mentioned cars at the traffic light grand prix), a nice looking car and (thanks too the p plate rules) a car that will hold its value...... so in 2/3 years time sell it and buy a turbo skyline/Silvia/JDM car. lincellusion
hahaha traffic light grand prix, I rly like that I guess a supra would be nice, they are magnificant cars, but you are right, I have a problem with skylines I will look into supras but. In all of you guys oninions, is an imported car better then one form an aussie owner? imported being less kms, one owner and in good nick, or aussie owner being alot of ks, more owners and in a bad/ lower quality shape? Is the money worth an import? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/370213-r33-or-r34/page/3/#findComment-5904231 Share on other sites
mad082
this is how my r34 N/A was looking. to be honest, and not being modest, mine was the best r34 gt/gtt shell going around melbourne (besides the black one with eastbear bodykit) would look a lot better if it didn't have cheese cutters stretched onto fat rims. wide tyres on wide rims = tough skinny tyres on skinny rims = not that tough, but still ok skinny tyres on wide rims = hellaflush = ooo look at me = epic fail. mad082
But its front wheel drive yuk! *facepalm* RWD fanbois need to pull their tampons out and go for a decent drive in a decent fwd. there's plenty of fwd cars that handle better than a lot of rwd cars Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/370213-r33-or-r34/page/3/#findComment-5904271 Share on other sites
w34ponGT
stretch tyres looked tough on my wheels, the next owner got canaried for stretchies and then changed to fat tyres and looked feral. but hey thats why i got 23 g for a n/a 34 is that a fail? Yeah that's one thing I don't like about the rest of the Silvia community Why would you put 215's over 9.5 inch wide rims? Grey
if you're buying an r34 n/a don't buy it for the performance as you will be very disappointed, buy it for the looks and experience in driving the car, sure it's not as quick as an integra/prelude/xr6/commodore/pulsar/some civics/s2000/supra n/a/magna you get the point (it's one of the most slowest N/A cars out there) take it apart and do minor fixes / repair/ services yourself and learn more about the car so when you do upgrade to the GTT or GTR you're able to know the car that you drive better as for this thread, i have a feeling it'll turn into another FWD vs RWD Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/370213-r33-or-r34/page/3/#findComment-5904352 Share on other sites
cannabiscorpse
Agree with grey. I honestly think most p platers dont need the fastest na car available anyway, i know my fat arsed v6 vr commodore was enough to get me in trouble plenty of times. I say if you like the look of the 33/34 skyline then go for it mate. RWD not FTW, but for the fun. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/370213-r33-or-r34/page/3/#findComment-5904375 Share on other sites
aussietroy
Get the 34, make it look good, pull up at the lights and you will have people (mainly P-platers) breaking there necks for a race. give it abit of a rev but dont race them trust me, everyone thinks skylines are quick (they dont always take into account its non-turbo) I had a guy who has tried to race me at the lights around town for months ask me why i dont race him in his commo, truthly i know hed kill me, but he doesn't know that haha. I own a 32 N/a ... not a performance car, but certainly gets looks and is still fun as hell to drive Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/370213-r33-or-r34/page/3/#findComment-5904386 Share on other sites

Had this old guy roll down his passenger window joking about how fast my car was at the lights(he thought it was a GTR), i told him it was non turbo and slow, then he said to me yeah it's only slow in this type of traffic -_- Trust me everyone will think it's fast but at all costs, don't rice it up lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/370213-r33-or-r34/page/3/#findComment-5904391 Share on other sites
