My mate at the compliance shop is helping to fit it as he does it fairly regularly and knows the tricks.

i bet he does it regularly to many cars other than an M35. wait till he tells you he has given up

anyway the dump looks good!. its gonna help the turbo breathe!

He has complied many M35 stagea's so all is good on that front..

I might give the good old G-Tech test before and after fitting it out of interest.

im sure he does comply M35s, but thats not the same as installing a dump pipe

Well considering he has to change the dump and front pipes with Australian complied cats for the compliance process, I think it is.

Not sure is the workshops actually do this in other states as they should be!

not for the dump cat. just because its not approved by our Regulations desnt mean they get rid of it. just means they'll put another cat which IS approved somewhere in the front pipe. not having a go, just hope your not expecting the world from compliance lol

Having seen what gets replaced I know what he does. It is a dump and front in one with new cats in it. Not just replacing the front pipe, both get replaced for compliance. This must be done for compliance. If the workshops don't and they get a surprise audit on the car (it happens Ive been at his workshop when the inspector was there) there will be trouble. Ill get a pic of the set up today while Im there.

IMO the dump pipe is not that hard to do.....it's just knowing how to do it.

I'm not a mechanic and I figured it out....just took a little longer the first time.....but there are imo a couple of little tricks which make it a lot easier....and becasue that dump pipe is so similar to Scott's imo it should not be a hassle.

Once he has fitted the compliance dump/front with cats and the car has gone for it's ID inspection we are then fitting the s/steel dump (no cat) and s/steel front pipe (200cpsi cat) to the car. Hopefully it will go for ID inspection by the end of this week.

A pic of the dump is in this thread on first page. It's 3" dump and front but ha e to keep the stock cat back. The wife won't let me fit a cat back to it, it has to stay quiet.

I'm just trying to do as many mods as I can (without her knowing) to improve low and mid torque as im not aloud to modify anything else. It's a sad life, lol

Yeah normally I go buy something with out her knowing, get it home and un pack it and set it up, then it's too late to return. I'm lucky to be getting away with a set of Tanabe coilovers, she's not happy about that. I told her the stock shocks are shagged.

Same volume as stock (82dB) whereas all others are 88dB+.

Yes, but since the reason stated was "noise", I figured that the Blitz would be more suitable.

but the size of exhaust i think would be just as noticable to his wife.

fujitsubo sort of looks stock, and is quiet. and cheap. win/win/win

Actually we all reckon the overall noise levels went down with the Blitz system. Intake noise was reduced heaps, so the in cabin levels were much quieter, at least whilst cruising. Even when giving it a bit, the noise is more pleasant, less Dyson more, erm, car.

But I agree with Aaron, the tail pipe look too big - & my wife wasn't too pleased at first but is over it now lol. I still get a bit embarrased driving it around sometimes as I'm more into stealth, tho my 14yo son thinks it's too small.

The Fujitsubo would be a good compromise between stockish looks & not too much more noise. I wish I had your outlet on my exhaust.

the kaki R I went with was a win for me.

suprisingly not TOO loud, free flowing, and after taking the gay tip cover off, it came up awesome
