ive been researching which cams to buy for my r33 gtst and im going to go with tomei. just wondering what the difference is between lash and solid lift? does it just mean that lash is lash adjusting nd what are the pros and cons?

lash is 260 deg nd 8.5mm lift and solid is 270 deg and 10.25 mm lift. im looking to use the car for track racing nd sometime take it for a cruise.

There is hydraulic and solid. Your 'lash' is the clearance between cam lobe and cam follower. Hydraulic is self adjusting via oil pressure in your cam follower taking up the lash, while a solid setup you have to shim the follower to achieve the correct lash clearance.

The lash termed camshafts will be straight drop in items apart from some springs id imagine. The solid cams will require the solid lifter conversion kit in order to use them. RB25's have hydraulic lifters standard.

So if you dont want to change to a solid lifter setup, you can only use the 'lash' 260 8.5mm camshafts.

If you get these Cams, I'd be really interested to see your back to back dyno results (if possible)

I was considering getting these cams for my 33 but decided against it after reading a few other peoples builds on here. Heaps of people getting like 350+ kw with stock cams and that's about 50 more kw than I wanted :P
