hi guys im getting a v35 inspected tommorow and its also getting the micron/mm thickness of paint check and im wondering what the standard/factory paint thickness mm and micron range should be.

if it matters the colour is silver.

check the roof first at some points and you wil get thickness

I believe the average thickness in Australia based cars is 160 microns. If its around 100 it would still be healthy. Anything lower just means you wont be able to do some paint re-work if you need to get rid of scratches.

stupid question but does washing your car regularly reduce the paint thickness over a long period of time?

No it shouldnt, maybe those automatic car wash machines will and also provide some nice scratches. If you are doing some detailed paint work it probably will.
