hey guys, im soon to get my license back, early august.. and have to decide whether to choose 3 months extra to refresh my 12 points, or go on a 12 month option with 1 demerit point, im definetly buying a R34 GTR , and a daily

but after opinions on what would you guys do? if i take the 1 point il be nervous to drive anywhere, doesnt matter how cautious you are you can get done for anything these days

but i also just want to drive again.

or does anyone know someone in vicroads to clear the option and give me 12 points? for $$ ofcourse

opinions/thoughts

I was in your exact situation 5 months ago......

lets just say I get my license back in 1 month now instead of having it for the last 2 months....

And I don't drive like a dick, never been done for high speed, DUI etc etc and Never been done in my GT-R take the three.

You'll still take the 1pt. If you were stupid enough to lose that many points, you're stupid enough to think you can go a year without a ticket. Which of course, you're wrong. ;)

When I lost mine I had a maximum of 4 points, easy to lose 4, one offense really.

So how come you dont get full points after you have already lost your license? I thought that the 1 point or 3 month option was only if you were about to loose your license, thats what happened to me a few years ago and I just took the 3 month option, 3 months isnt much really to wait, just think of it as a time to save money for your gtr.

3 months all the way anth. Sometimes a cop will find an excuse to make you lose the 1 point. You can be a perfect driver and still get done for it lol. Better of with 12 than 1 and only to wait approx 90 days.

Not long now before you find your bayside 34R :)

Will be speaking to ya soon

I'd take the 3 month option. I'm a pretty cautious driver and try to obey the limits, but occasionally I'll drift a couple of k's over and that's all it takes to get flashed. I've literally had like 3 spending fines in the last couple of years all 3-4ks over the limit.

I got done when I was picking my car up from Victoria for speeding (1st offence).

they managed to transfer it to NSW and I'm sitting here for about 4 months w/o licience. I believe I had a 1 point option if I chased it up, but I'd still rather sit it out.

If you get a cop on a bad day, or slip up in any way for that year, you'll need to sit it out anyway.

Escpeccially in Victoria, the f**king Nanny state, the missus and I got fines for doing 5km over and lost two points. cool.

LOL! sick avatar

yeh i thoguth so to plus 99% of the population, however one member had worries about his son stikin his peepee in an exhaust, i think the issues wasnt with my avator

good luck not loosing 1 point in 12months. especially that youb guys have the 1point fine for like 5kms over LOL

seriously, the statistics show the a majority of people who go for that option loose the 1 point.....just make sure if you do opt for the 1point over 12months, you drive like a friggin grandma

    • Price seems pretty good to me. Also seems a hell of a lot cheaper then buying another vehicle that only ever gets used for towing.  I'm a long way from you mate, I'm a couple of hours out of Brizzy.

    • The sodium acetate, mixed with citric acid, doesn't actually buffer each other. Interestingly though, if you used Sodium Acetate, and acetic acid, THAT becomes a buffer solution. Additionally, a weak acid that can attack a metal, is still a weak acid that can attack a metal. If you don't neutralise it, and wash it off, it's going to be able to keep attacking. It works the same way when battery acid dries, get that stuff somewhere, and then it gets wet, and off it goes again breaking things down. There's a reason why people prefer a weak acid, and it's because they want TIME to be able to be on their side. IE, DIY guys are happy to leave some mild steel in vinegar for 24 hours to get mill scale off. However, if you want to do it chemically in industry, you grab the muriatic acid. If you want to do it quicker at home, go for the acetic acid if you don't want muriatic around. At the end of the day, look at the above thumbnail, as it proves what I said in the earlier post, you can clean that fuel tank up all you want with the solution, but the rust that has now been removed was once the metal of the fuel tank. So how thin in spots is your fuel tank getting? If the magazine on the left, is the actual same magazine as on the right, you'll notice it even introduces more holes... Well, rust removal in general actually does that. The fuel tank isn't very thick. So, I'll state again, look to replace the tank, replace the fuel hanger, and pump, work out how the rust and shit is making it past the fuel filter, and getting into the injectors. That is the real problem. If the fuel filter were doing its job, the injectors wouldn't be blocked.
    • Despite having minimal clothing because of the hot weather right now, I did have rubber gloves and safety glasses on just in-case for most of the time. Yes, I was scrubbing with my gloves on before, but brushing with a brush removes the remaining rust. To neutralize, I was thinking distilled water and baking soda, or do you think that would be overkill?
