350Z 35Th Anniversary Streeter

Hi Everyone.

I thought I share my new toy I have recently purchased. I know its not a skyline but its still a Nissan and is just as good as one. I have only owned it for two weeks and the modifying has started. The car is a 2005 350Z 35th Anniversary Track Edition and is it pristine condition and it had 49000kms on it. Now the previous owner was a older guy but he had a very good taste for parts, as the car looks awesome and go's pretty hard for a N/A car. I reckon it is just as fast as my first skyline a modified R34 GT-T, this car will not be getting the full blow treatment like the R32 and R33 GTR's but it will not be slow either cause i hate driving slow pieces of shit. This is my first N/A car so I have to research parts all over again which sucks cause turbo cars are a piece of piss to get easy power out of them, but not to worry I'm looking forward to the challenge. My plan is to try keep it N/A but I'm not ruling out a supercharger kit down the track.

Here's the list of parts that were on it when i bought it:

I would have to agree with you on that Risking a Twin Turbo kit on these VQ engines would be smoke most GTR's probably smoke my R33 GTR haha but I'm not going to abuse this car to much its to nice to destroy, I'll just abuse the shit out of the GTR's thats what i built them for.

Installed the Motordyne 5/16 Intake Spacer and the Pioneer 7" DVD Player today. I must say the for a $200 mod the intake spacer does make a noticeable difference to the car, more torque through out the rev range and can really feel the difference in the top end of the rev range it doesn't flatten out as much as it use to around the 6000rpm mark. It took me a whole 45mins to do and you wouldn't even know it was done to the un-trained eye. As for the DVD player was a piece of piss to install if you buy the right fascia kit with the plugs included took me probably a bit over an hour easy as. I took for a long drive to Townsville on the weekend and i am really happy with its fuel economy would easily get 700km highway driving out of a tank.

Next on the parts on the list:

-Stillen Headers

-Stillen High Flow Cats.

-Stillen Lightweight pulley kit.

-Kelford Cams (Maybe more research required).

I'm really enjoying the challenge of this N/A project, if i can get 220-240rwkw i will be quite happy.

Here's some pics of the latest parts that were installed they are not very extreme compared to what we usually do but still have fun doing it, chucked on some Red Rays Wheel Nuts that i had spare just floating around the shed. They look heaps better than the other nuts plus they never had lock nuts on it either. The way the U.S dollar is at the moment I might have to go to town on the Stillen Catalog and spend up, tax return money = 350 mods .

Can't even notice the spacer!!!!

I know its hard to compare.... but how does it drive compared to the 33? Clearly it wont be as fast lol but always wondered what the 350Z and 370Z were like on the road

Yeah the DVD player is pretty good only paid $400 for it from Yanky Land bargin.

As for the 350Z they pretty much drive likes my old GT-T, steering is very direct, corners hard, no lag is pretty good for daily driving, pretty good on fuel also. It does have a very short wheelbase, even shorter than a supra so they are pretty snappy when you get it sideways, but they are still a fun car to drive. I will take it to the strip once all my mods are done see how it goes.

Lol i don't think the Z will be faster than the your 33 Cal, but i will be putting 100 shot of nitrous on it later on down the track . I gotta pull my finger out and get my 33 going its giving me the shit's at the moment cause i don't no what to do to it.

Yeah...no. Thats some pretty serious power for that motor NA. It would be internals, higher comp etc.

You can have a look round the V35/G35 / 350Z sites. Most put out 170/180 stock, up to 200 for the tricked up ones with ECU's. Mine is about 150 at the wheels, but thats running through an auto box, and AWD system! Its stock.

By all means, don't let me put you off your goal, but its just not that easy as with a Turbo.Make it sound nice with headers/exhaust, and you'll love it. Keep it easy to run on the street!

I've been doing lots of research at the moment on the US forums, only have to spend very little on the car and i will get my power figure. I have am also thinking about putting NOS on it for some easy HP about 100-150 Wet Shot, there's guys over there running the same bolt on stuff i got at the moment with 150HP shots and running mid to high 11s over the quarter, so the more i research the more i want it.
