R32 And S13 Crossmember Comparison

hi there,

i know you can throw an r32 crossmember in an s13 when doing a rb20 conversion into s13.

so they obviously have the same bolt holes where they go into the chassis rails.

So im wondering whats the difference in the 2 crossmembers, ie, why cant you bolt the rb20 to the s13 crossmember? Also any other differences between the two..

obviously not chassis tox member as they wouldnt be interchangeable. so your talking the engine mounting points??

So can you use the S13 crossmember to bolt an SR20 into a 32?

i really dont know though, hence why i have the question.

i also want to know if the rubber r31 engine mounts are the same as r32 rubber engine mounts???

Well, logically, the R32 crossmember takes RB engine mounts in exactly the right position to fit onto an RB, and the S13 crossmember takes SR engine mounts in exactly the righ position to fit onto an SR. And the opposite is not true.

So that is the difference.
