Hi everyone on the 5 november i am getting married and i want to use a 1970 gtr for one of the wedding cars the owner can drive it i just want a lift from epping to chatswood and after the church a few photos in the local park. Its my dream car can anyone help me. my family has an old ford xb gt goss and that is the second car for the wedding party for the other boys. thanks everyone

You might be best served finding a needle in a haystack for your wedding fella.

Only 2 good ones or even suitable cars in this country & both are in Victoria as best I know and to get them to Sydney for a day might cost you more than you're prepared to pay. If it's a classic Skyline you want as a wedding car, I would suggest you rethink your choice of model and maybe one with 4 doors.

Cheers, D

Geez! After talking with Shelby I thought you knew better than that!!

We have three 1971 KGC10s in Sydney ( 1 GT-X and 2 GT's) all are silver GT-R tribute cars . One very nice stock KGC10 GT-X in Singleton area. The fourth GT-R lookalike has been sold and moved on to SouthCoast somewhere I believe.

The two cars in Victoria are stock bodied KGC10's both yet to be refurbished. Another in WA.

Mine is currently unregistered but should be right by then and wedding ready if you like!?

We could try for two?

Cheers

Jim.

There is a guy on JDM Style Tuning with one in Sydney thats regoed and gets driven regularly.

His name escapes me at the moment but its worth a try. I would almost guarantee he would do it for small fee

Hi Jim :action-smiley-069:

yeah yeah...we are a bit slow with ours in Victoria  but we'll get there....

Big request for a 1970 GT-R don't you think? Sh%t, we'd just like to see an original KPGC10 or PGC10 GT-R in Australia fullstop!!!!!

Perhaps you and Kev could both do the wedding....Get the 'ol bag of fruit out mate - all chauffer's need to look the part  Of course that is only if a GT-R Clone is acceptable :nyaanyaa::nyaanyaa:

Two would be great but one of my grooms men is disabled he has no problems sliding off his Chair into the car I just don't know how far the doors open to allow him to do it well I guess we could carry him ok so if there were 2 skylines even better. Real fake well beggers can't be choosers so I will take what I can get one day in my life I will have one of every gtr in my garage.

Jim did you ever organise club rego for the car?

I did, but sadly there is very little I could say about that club on a public forum . Save for the fact there are a few good folk there having their best efforts go to waste. Got a better idea now anyway.

OH! By the way.....

Skylines Australia NSW Rules and Constitution

Where? I can't find 'em :stupid:

Cheers,

Jim.

although a 2 door(KPGC10) GTR had its debut in October 1970, they werent released until march 1971.

so a 1970 GTR would be a 4 door (PGC10).

sad that aus doesnt have any original GTRs. maybe some day :)

Sad for sure, but I'm told getting one complete with original S20 engine would be every bit impossible to get out of Japan, as Nissan has some sort of register keeping track of every single engine number.

lol.....interesting information you've been told?

What i find to be more impossible from your statement, would be how Nissan has maintained the register of 'whatever kind' which keeps track of every single engine number. They would have done a very good job trying to keep track of all S20's manufactured regardless of ownership changes etc....

KPGC10s have also hit USA soil over the last few years....

My sources in Japan have always told me it isn't a problem getting one out of Japan and are constantly digging at me to beg, sell or steal to buy one.

Any chance you can clarify what you have been told?? - could be interesting.....

Have spoken to a number of importers they all said they Are very hard to get and you neeed an open check book anywhere between 60g to 90g each depending on colour and a very long wait to find them but just imagine having one in the garage

yeah sounds like a load of crap.

pfffft they have them on import monster just like that.100k wham bam

Sounds like the import houses you have been talking to are saying it is a long wait to find them 'cause they would in turn 'wait' for one to pop up at auction. Auction houses are not the right avenue to sell these cars in Japan - Certain yards in Japan is where you need to look if you were serious. There are enough around to be able to purchase....

Agree that it would be great to have one in the garage, but you would be struggling to find one even at $60k. Start talking $80k+ and you would start to have better luck. Out of my ball park at the moment, which is why i will clone one with my KGC10 (until my money trees start to flower).....

Back on topic....I do hope you get one for your wedding, and be sure to post some pics. if you do. Hopefully Jim will be able to help out.....

lol - i wasn't going to say it in so many words....i was hoping to hear more about the Register on every single S20 engine that is maintained by Nissan and the constraints they have over allowing them and KPGC GT-R's leaving Japan.

i know someone that has seen and heard an S20 in brisbane. sounds a bit odd to me. but i am definately not in the know.

Sounds odd to me also. Would be interested to hear more though (if possible)....Jim (no doubt) and I would love to know of this.

There was an S20 engine in Adelaide a long time ago, but it quickly left Australian shores......

RE the S20 in Australia;

The only one I know of, (I wish I had kept the ad from "Auto Action"!anyone remember the huge ad space EKW had?) came into and went out of East Keilor Wreckers ~ mid eighties. Engine and gearbox only. IIRC it was from a Fairlady Z432. They were asking Au$8000 back then!

From memory  Was bought by a company in England who regularly sourced 2nd hand Z car parts from Australia back then. It is now in good hands in GB and well looked after.
