Rust On Cam Shaft And What Arp Studs To Use?

Hey guys and gals

Lets start with bad news, i bought an rb25 head about a month or so ago and its just been sitting there, and today i saw that there is a surface rust on the cam lobes, so right away i put some oil on it to stop it from becoming worse. I rubbed it with my finger and it comes off a little bit.

Now what should I do to it? Regrind? get new ones? Or just try my best to remove it all with my finger and hope when i stick it on my car let the oil do its job on cleaning the surface rust?

Second question is which ARP head studs should I buy for the RB30DET? RB25 or RB30?

Try a scotchbrite pad and rub it off. If its not too bad it will come off without really affecting anything.

yep scotchbrite or extremely fine sandpaper (1500+ grit), go over it real gently.

I went 1200 grt then 1500 grit. Comes up like a mirror
