Nic_A31
Reverted back to 2 piece driveshaft today, and noticed the yoke doesn't go all the way into the gearbox. The 1 piece would go all the way in, now I know there is meant to be slack but I can't remember how much. Can somebody take a pic of theirs with that circular cover off, show me roughly how much of the yoke is meant to be exposed with the centre bearing and diff ends of the tailshaft mounted ? I've got like ...1in.++. A31 rear tailshaft. R32 front half inc centre bearing) Edited July 19, 2011 by Nic_A31 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/371502-rb20det-gearbox-yoke/ Share on other sites
CEF33Y
How much engagement do you have? As long as its on the spine 2/3rd the length of the yoke you'll be ok. Dan_J
yea there is a lil bit of slack on my r32 front/auto ceffy rear tail shaft, works fine. also mine drops some oil on the right angle when shaft is removed so seems to be normal, then again i have put more then 2l of in the box. Nic_A31
Oil meant to leak when the yoke isn't in the box One of those things I actually didn't know first time I took tailshaft out - had a spaz thinking I had a f**ked box or something 2L is about right isn't it. I thought it was roughly 2.2 but never measure it, just fill it up to the plug. Had a better look last night, it's more like 20mm of the yoke exposed, but that might decrease again when I actually mount the tailshaft to the diff. Cheers fella's. o0o
i made my own driveshaft, after i measured it wrong i realized the yoke shaft isn't in the gearbox like it should... the yoke is just half in the gearbox, when i did the auto to manual i was to lazy to customize it again and just tried,...never had a problem lol surprisingly it works fine, drifted around a half year and still good:D only problem is when i drive for example 80 km/h and clutch in to let the car roll the driveshaft vibrates like hell and shakes the car, on acceleration and deceleration normal^^ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/371502-rb20det-gearbox-yoke/#findComment-5926153 Share on other sites
