Parts are done by a combo of tig welds and mig welds

All parts Arm welded by a professional

And will be stronger than there were before they were modified

What we do?

WE cut the lower control arm and extend it by welding in a piece of metal in its place we extend it by the amount that you have asked

Why we do this

We do this to bring out the wheel so we can put wider wheels on the car without hitting the wheel tubs

to get more camber

to clear tubs so you can run more wheel lock ( for drifting )

i am happy to answer as many questions as you like

i also have some photos if you would like to see some of the arms so you get a good idea what we do

and all my work i have done on my own car so you can come down and see how it works and what it will do for you

the process will take between 1-3 days

(work includes weekends or weekdays)

located in vic but can work out shipping

your pretty much correct risking

i extend them by welding a peice of metal inbetween

then i also tig weld a bottom plate on the lower controll arm for extra stregth

if anyone has any questions at all feel free to ask :)

I have a question.

What do you do about the bump steer issue created

What do you do about the roll center stuff up it causes

What do you do about the appualing scrub radius

Or is it irrelevant cause the wider arms make it handle better......

That's three questions. :P

You'd probably strangle me Brad if you saw what I've done for suspension arm work on my buggy.

I'm redoing them and want to do it at least vaguely properly. Was seriously strapped for time when I bodged up the current ones. When I get around to it in a few months I'll post up a thread asking for advice I think.

Dont drive over bumps

cut the springs

Put the tyres on the back when they are scrubbed and do burnouts

Correct

What do you do about the bump steer issue created

Bump steer is created for alot of reason's But! 10 mm or 20mm out is not enough to affect this

What do you do about the roll centre stuff up it causes

Yes roll centre will be affected but by a amount that willbe hard to measure...

thats like saying people that run wheel spacers OR!! offsetwheels are doing this.........

What do you do about the appualing scrub radius

Ok so at 20mm You will not get scrub... If you had spacersand lca and camber arms then yes you would

But i also have a guard roller you can use

Or is it irrelevant cause the wider arms make it handlebetter......

All mods dont give you a better result but allows you To dothings to give you a improvement (ex: installing wider wheels )

E.g i put a high flow fuel pump in the car do i get morepower?

NO! But!! i am ableto tune in more power or wind up boost without leaning out...

Anyone that questions this ask me more questions im happy toexplain

I'd like to know more.

Can you explain exactly how lengthening tie rods/ control arms only provides a negligible change to bump steer and the roll center?

Do you know what a scrub radius is?? I don't mean the tire scrubbing on the guard....

ok mate this is how i see it

this mod is meant for a cretin application

For me this was drift

he arms Are extremely Strong and safe

and I have used them for the reason to bring out the wheel So i clear wheel tubs

I am Just trying to Help Fellow drifters To get Where i have

...

instead of feeling like im stealing from you. you could have pm'ed me about what you do and i could have promoted what you do To All the sites i drift

but when i needed these mods done i couldn't find anyone that would do it.

im not looking to make money I have a day job for that

  • 2 weeks later...

Thats great amount of lock abe, what have you modified for that much lock? Im trying to get more lock on my 33 but at the moment just have the spacers in there and the r33 rack only goes lets a 4mm spacer slide in, whats the next step I have to take?

I have a fancy pants Fluidampr harmonic balancer on order, the 2.5 engine uses the OEM 2.0 balancer off the old motor as the 2.5 balancer is a larger unit and doesn't fit clearance wise, which, because the two engines have different harmonics, isn't optimal, the OEM balancer does the job, but as the gear driven balancer in the bottom end is removed to fit a RWD application there is slightly more vibration, the Fluidampr helps with the harmonics that the gear driven balancer once took care of,  basically makes life easier on the oil pump and bearings when thrashing it around Hopefully the weather gets better soon because I'm keen for some cruising around, and currently, with the winds and storms we are getting, the amount of detritus being blown around from trees on the road isn't something I want to be driving around in
