Attempted Theft in Bertram 3am this morning.

Both my r33 and the girfriends new suzuki were touched.

My motorbike CBR250RR was touched as well.

My girlfriends Suzuki Spare Key was Taken. My German Shepherd Puppy Alerted us to them as well as he roams the house freely at night.

Once Awake me and the girlfriend were confronted by 5 Tall People dressed in black from head to toe they were all inside the house with torches and all they were about 6ft 1 in height each.

My attempts to bail them up with the baseball bat had failed and they simply ran.

They were using a White Rav 4 with no plates (Recent model) police suspect the car they were using was stolen from Wembley Recently.

To me they seem very professional in the way they did things and whats worrying is that seeing they have the spare key to the suzuki. Leads me to believe they will Return.

is there any suggestions people can make to prevent this in the future?

I Asked the cop that turned up about gun laws and break and entering/ stealing. he looked at me funny and strongly urged me not to shoot anyone inside your house unless they are Threatening and to call cops in future.

my car keys are kept in my room with me (both sets)

just unfortunate that the girlfriends spare keys were elsewhere in the house. her main set remain on her at all times as well.

Cops believe the lock to the door was picked open. (currently they have a few people of interest based on that fact (they had a list of people with them for recent offences)

Ah this is no good too hear. I'd probably throw some money into some security, dead locks on doors and surprisingly not much beats the old stick in the window groove trick. Give it another 6 or so months and the Dog should be enough to keep them out of the house, out German Shepherd is good like that. Fortunate that you were home at the time. I don't think they'll have a go at getting inside again but they may make another attempt on the cars. Hopefully they leave you alone. My brother sleeps with a Katana near by in case things like this happens.

At least you guys were not hurt and the cars were not taken. Lucky you, Sean.

My opinions are have a sensor flood light installed between the cars and closest window and increase your car security. Plus, your German Sheperd is going to grow up so that's better.

My guess is also they have to live near your area as well. They might also know there are two people live in the house with a small dog. Hope they get caught.

Baseball bat sounds ok but I have both now. Because that might be the only time I get to use them. :)

Just went out to Bunnings and got a Motion Sensor Flood Light Right where it was needed.

Dick Smiths - Quell Entry Sirens. 20 bux each. i installed them on doors and sliding doors. they go off when the door it opened to a tune of 110 decibels.

I'd Say the Contributing Factor in all this is the fact they got in without waking anyone up. if they try to breach the house again it will surely be a very loud entry and wake everyone up.

the flood light is to stop them from roaming around like ninjas

and my missus says i am crazy for sleeping with a US army knife under my pillow, my car keys stay in my top draw, inches from my head...i also have a baseball bat about 1.5m from my head...

we've had crooks jump our side fence (we live on a corner block) we got up, bro grabbed his baseball bat, i grabbed mine, we went from different sides and chased the guy for a solid 300m before we stopped!

also had people try to pick our old door lock, guy was fumbling with about 100 different keys, called the cops, rocked up within 3mins....too bad they had just taken off...theres some real scum out there!!

latest incident, somebody jumped our side fence, and removed the flood lights lights, left the globes on the ground and stole my lil sis's bike...fence is 6 6" ft tall too...scum mate!

I had one 2AM in the morning on Sat. They broke in and woke me up in my bedroom while i was asleep.. they were about to go through my room but quickly closed the door when they realized i was in bed asleep. I kinda woke up and found it suspicious.

So i got up with my Samurai Sword... N told them to get out.. there was 2 of them.. As usual they were looking for the keys for my Skyline.. They ran away.. They only had 1 exit in the house which i could of easily blocked off but i wanted them to just get out..

I also found the Kitchen knife on the Lounge.. i think they were gonna use that just incase they had a confrontation.. Also found Old Car keys of the Camry on the lawn later in the morning which was sold ages ago..

I brought a house with my brother recently. Have been in there about 6weeks or so. About 2 weeks ago around 1130pm on a Sunday night, the doorbell rung. 6 young kids (no older than 18) standing at the front door. I grabbed a metal pole and my brother grabbed a piece of wood with steel down the centre. 2 of the kids were trying to jack my brothers BMW.

We only have a 1 car garage and his bmw is usually in the garage with my suzuki out the back of the house (garage goes right through to the back yard), but the garage was full of cardboard boxes from the furniture/tv/etc.

Chased them off, called the police and the next morning, 3 teenagers (oldest 18) were arrested around 1130pm that night for assaulting a middle-aged woman in her car. Were the same kids, and worse still, i live in noranda, right near dianella, so it's not actually a dodgy area at all!

Lived with my parents for the last 22 years (about 1km away from my current house) and not one break in/theft/etc in 22years!

I heard about a r32 being stolen on the monday night before it all happened (so two nights before hand). Didnt Know of a R34. Living on Araulen Crescent. The Missus Hasnt yet got to change her keys over either but...... we have moved her car far far far away. It would have to be all the same people the cops were at the house within minutes. Just tonight I've seen 15 cop cars sprawled out amongst 3 suburbs. So I'd say its only a matter of time

    • Can't say I've had a bad experience with one on my car, then again it only gets washed once or twice a year... The wheels on the other hand, get a good spray often due to my shitty dusty pads.
    • @MBS206 thats pretty neat and tidy to me!  I'll get a photo of mine when I'm out there next. It might require multiple photos to understand the scale of the atrocities though... In total I have 4 sheds of varying sizes and layouts. Main shed is 14x8, second shed is 3x8, third shed is 11x2.5, fourth shed is around 6x4.  All are pretty much full.   The main goal of my cleaning tsunami is to make the main shed predominantly car and motorbikes only. Second shed is my metal fab room (2 x bench grinders, drill press, bench belt sander, metal band saw, scrap metal storage and some of my garden tools.  3rd shed is more bigger garden stuff, storage for engine crane, jack stands, concrete grinder, concrete mixer, air compressor lives there, and it now has two 2mx2m pallet racking shelves with itemised boxes holding building stuff, electrical stuff, plumbing stuff, etc, etc.  The 4th shed is Ryobi electric ride on mower, mini boom sprayer, ancient Kubota tractor, more garden stuff!  I have got a lot of shit....  Then there's the pool house (8mx4m) and the pool pump shed (4mx4m).  I built all of the sheds over the 11 years we've been here.  The main shed was a Ranbuild kit, the rest are all custom made to fit the areas available. Building the main shed taught me a LOT as I had no idea about building anything prior to that!  I've still got one more in me. It will be my man cave which I poured the extra concrete for way back when I poured the concrete for the main shed. The idea is the Skyline will be a centre piece of the main cave once (if...) it's finished.  I told my now 14 year old son yesterday that I will 100% drive him to his year 10 formal in 2 years. Still a long way off but at least I now have a date to work towards! 🤣
    • Modern oils are amazing. Add tyres to that as well.
    • Probably a smart choice to buy one vs build, purely for the motivation part as you said! Imagine the metal dust everywhere from grinding all the steel to build one. Ha ha ha!   Also, post a photo of your garage.   Mine is below, this is where I've been cleaning and have already half filled a caged 6*4 trailer. And this is after my cleaning expedition mentioned previously... The middle normally has a car in it, but I'm dumping things in the middle as I sort through them. And poor skyline was dusty and has had the lightest few drops of rain and now it looks atrocious and needs to be dragged back out and washed thoroughly! And yes to the right is technically another bay, you really can only see 2 bays out of 3 in this picture.
    • It's more like on average the things I see a lot of things going wrong. Yes, usually the people who reach out are the ones who are having problems but on average it feels like mechanics and tuners here aren't really competent. I swing between thinking my standards are just way too high and wondering whether people really are just this dumb. I just had the strangest 10+ reply argument on a Facebook group over someone insisting that the factory R34 GTT boost control solenoid reduces boost pressure to 5 psi when it's on and raises boost pressure to 7 psi when it's off despite showing the exact plumbing in the factory service manual and the solenoid behavior detailed in the FSM.
