I downloaded this today. It's kinda weird because it feels so different to OSX Snow Leopard, yet strangely familiar because they've taken so many aspects of iOS and copied them.

I really like fullscreen apps, super easy to switch between them using a three finger horizontal swipe, its great for things like Mail and iTunes to just leave open in the background.

Mission Control I 'get', but I'm probably not the target because I rarely have more than a few programs open.

They've also put in 'Natural' Scrolling. It's really weird at first, push up and the page goes down, just like on a phone. You get used to it fairly quickly though, then it feels normal. Pages now have the same 'bounce' as on an iPhone too. Now when you type it also does the same iPhone auto-correct thing where the word pops up and you can click on it.

There's a few other cool things too but I haven't really come across them yet.

Anyways, it's nothing too major, but for $32 I reckon it's a worthwhile upgrade :)

hahaha inverting the scrolling is an awesome "feature" :P

have it installed on our sandbox / admin mac here at work, does not seem different at all, typical of Apple to charge for what is really a service pack.

Also lol @ the mac mini specs (esp the "higher end" one having dedicated video that's worse than the Intel HD graphics, and claims that with 2x SSD's it's faster than an Xserve with SAS disks!! :D)

oh it was part of the release of lion; the refresh of the Mac Mini and MBA.

pc users are hardly going over to OSX in their droves, and differently? half of these features have been in superior operating systems for years, the main trend with Lion I noticed was more of a crossover to an ios style desktop OS.

I've removed Mission Control and Launchpad from my dock, don't want/need them. Never used Expose, anyway.

First thing; switched the scrolling back to normal, and switched Mail back to the right way of displaying emails: problem is, when sorting by date (newest at bottom), in a thread, the newest will still be at the top. WHAT THE f**k GODDAMMIT

all in all, very nice, a few shiny bits I'm happy with. We're not supporting it for any staff at work until at least 10.7.2, so we'll hold out for bugfixes.

i have seen little bugs compared to slow leopard

most of the major issues i have seen have been issues that were happening in 10.6 that just got worse due to the upgrade such as node issues etc and conflicts with apps trying to change things in the OS that aren't the same and causing issues

most other bugs are just anoyances like doing and extra click on something and things like hot corners not working after using mission control till you use mission control again

Yeah, I'm not overly impressed with it.. Although I did find out my 2008 Macbook was too old for the multi point touch gestures... So I just invested in a Magic mouse.. Waiting for it to come now :D

Oh and I probably wouldn't have gotten Lion if I had to pay for it lol

It's supported on my macbook (core 2 duo)... but I don't have a multi touch trackpad, and the chipset of the wireless is the wrong kind...

So no gestures other than scrolling up and down, no AirDrop... useless "upgrade"...

Who said anything about Mac mini's?

At least Apple are willing to try things differently, thats why their market is expanding and the PC market is shrinking.

Sorry bro, Mac has just been Linux you pay for on a PC for quite some time.

I doubt Mac has even recovered to it's 2008 levels yet. Slipped 12% in desktop sales in 2009 and only increased 3% from it's lower level in 2010. With laptops and netbooks Apple is lucky to get 10% - Windows around 70%. Mobile devices? Windows gets slaughtered....but it's not by Apple. It's Symbian and Android.

Interesting that the percentage of people that are gay always sits very close the the percentage of people that use Apple products. Coincidence?

But you just backed up what I said? Mac is increasing, PC is decreasing. I never said they were the majority.

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
