Nick, give Mark at SA Motorsport Tyres a call on 0409 288 380.

He's the SA Federal and Hankook motorsport dealer, he'll be able to advise you of something decent for daily use. I'm waiting on him to sort my wheels out before we go tyres, but he did have some ideas and will be able to tell you whether it is or isn't over the top (and he'll be honest about it!).

Tell him Ryan from Pure Motorsport sent you

Cheers,

Will do. Whereabouts is his shop located? Would he be able to fit tomorrow morning? Not too keen to keep the space saver any longer then it needs to be!

hey mate

contis are a very well engineered tyre, OE fitment for alot of vehicles

pirellis are abit soft in the sidewall, more of a family highway tyre

federal ss-595's are a good performing tyre but very VERY noisey

bridgestone RE001's as suggested by kiwi are a good performance tyre with very low road noise, very stiff in the sidewall for handling

Rear tyre just got shredded (mrs driving). Booked in at NTT (North Tce Tyres) tmrw morning to get a couple of either Pirelli P7's or Continantal Contact 3's (235/45/R17) for $198 each. Thoughts/recommendations?

my thoughts....these days you can get as good or better tyres from the less known brands much cheaper.

Personally I run the 595SS Federals (and haven't found them noisey), I'd also look at falken fk452. Or generally, the top tyre in the range from any of the cheaper brands, they are a very good price/performance compromise because they can't change the top brand premium.

How much? They're a bit hardcore for everyday use aren't they?

Because I drive a lot in the mountains here I need something decent.

Up here "Option 1" are very well priced.Check their web site for prices and compare with local dealers.
