GTR_001
VOLK RACING CE28N SET OF 4 + TYRES I have for sale a near immaculate set of CE28N rims in TITANIUM SILVER that are currently fitted to my R32 GTR. Forged mono block lightweight wheels, 10 spoke, 5 stud, believe the offset is approx +22. The VOLK Racing CE28N design is one of the lightest wheels available, yet strong and durable. These rims and genuine and look fantastic on my GTR, gives it a real race spec look. They are 17 x 9 all round and are fitted with 255 tyres also all round with at lease 90% tread. The rims have no gutter rash or marks, almost like new. The only slight marking is in the wheel nut holes when rims have been removed and fitted over time. The VOLK RACING stickers are also starting to come off, its and easy fix as you can just buy a new set of stickers if its a problem. NOTE: Doesn't come with the Potenza tyres fitted in the pictures, but another set of good quality tyres. Willing to freight at buyers expense AUSTRALIA WIDE. Maybe willing to swap for something of interest. Located in Hobart Price - $2800 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/371913-volk-racing-ce28n-rims-tyre-package-aggressive-rims/ Share on other sites
trustr32
So this is the Burgundy GTR my friend was telling me about. Very neat looking car he said it looked like it had just come out of the factory and if the pic's are anything to go by I'd say he's right. Sorry to hijack your thread but what wheels are you thinking of upgrading to? Sorry to hijack your thread but what wheels are you thinking of upgrading to? This would be it I recon, it's very tidy.. It took me a while to find one as clean and well modded as this one ! So I'm pretty happy with it Not entirely sure where to take the look of it, I do have my eyes on a set of 19 x 9.5 + 19 x 10.5 rears in a matte black set of rims but I don't mind the simple but aggressive look it has already but wouldn't mind a change. GTR_001
Hey Tenille, what would you swap them for? Not sure yet Justin, leaving my options open.. Wouldn't mind toying with the idea of black rims though.. Anything you would suggest ? Similar to these I was thinking.. XRATED
You can't really run staggered rims on a GTR as the awd ecu will keep cutting the awd on and off, resulting in the car jerking or surging and the transfer case will wear out quicker. You really have to stick with the same rims front to rear and the same tyres front to rear. 32's arn't so bad, but 34's unevenly worn tyres front to rear will cause surging/awd issues. I think they set the car off just right.. XRATED
TE37's Yes.. 18x9 +22 or there abouts... Fake TE37's Noooooo... (the one's in the photo's look like rota or similar fakes) Maybe look at gettin the current wheels painted or powder coated- Black or bronze. GTR_001
How much would they sting me to power coating them black ? I'll lower the potencial value of the rims by power coating them though wouldn't I ? Because I may down the track sell them and get half what they are worth.. I don't mind the way it sits at the moment but black rims would look pretty sweet. jangles
its not very expensive at all up this way. couple hundred or something people pay for the wheel, not the colour really, plus ur current wheels in black would be rarer!! to get the lip like that in TE's you need 19" wheels. If you just drive round and do some laps, the copies would be fine...but your car has some power and is begging to be driven hard no doubt!! so you would want good quality wheels as the ones you have are. Importmonster have a few different sets on their site, IMO these would look INSANE on your car http://www.importmonster.com.au/shop/product_info.php?cPath=40_45&products_id=1186 he also does trades Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/371913-volk-racing-ce28n-rims-tyre-package-aggressive-rims/#findComment-5930345 Share on other sites

They will inrease in value in black as jangles said. Personally I would get them media blasted then painted correctly. Powder coating can chip too easily for my likeing.. if they're painted, at least you can touch it up if they're scratched. Either way, not crazy expensive. toffy
if you were changing colour of your rims , imo black wouldn't suit your car as much as dark grey/bronze pic of dark grey wheels: http://www.workwheelsusa.com/news-post.php?article=81 or bronze xd9s would look nice , not 100% it would suit the colour of your car though Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/371913-volk-racing-ce28n-rims-tyre-package-aggressive-rims/#findComment-5930476 Share on other sites
jangles
I personally am with Toffy, I dont think whole black wheels would be the stand out option for your car. but it is your car afterall.. Mr. Untouchable
sand blasting works well. better quality rims dont go all pitted and nasty. the primer/etch bites really well and bronze/gold is easy enough to do, pick the color in base coat and clear them out with a dulling agent to get the satin effect. and re-repair is easy. thats that we did with my wheels, about to do some more for the front of mine. your looking at about 80-100 per wheel roughly. going from your current wheels to cheapies is a CRIME Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/371913-volk-racing-ce28n-rims-tyre-package-aggressive-rims/#findComment-5930742 Share on other sites
GTR_001
After a good night sleep I think I'll stick with my current look, I'm getting my engine covers, plenum etc polished up to as close to a mirror finishes as I can. So because the engine bay it WHITE I don't want to throw another color at it with bronze / black wheels. I think I'll stick with the titanium silver rims to match the engine bay once its done, braided hosing etc. It would have been a hit and miss with choosing another set of rims I think But thanks for the help all the same guys Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/371913-volk-racing-ce28n-rims-tyre-package-aggressive-rims/#findComment-5930758 Share on other sites
GTR_001
Does anyone know if center caps can be brought for these rims and point me to some that will fit ? I've had a hard time finding them and not even sure if you can get them for the CE28N's Also like mentioned in the for sale ad, the stickers are starting to flake.. Where would I find a replacement set ? The thing about 34s surging due to worn tyres is also a bit of an old wives tale. ATTESA can tolerate about 3% diameter difference front to rear, which is almost 20mm on a 235/45R17 (for example). So basically one tyre would have to have 10mm of tread depth and one on the canvas for it to be a big deal. Even at 1.5% we're talking a solid 5mm or so difference in tread wear before there's a problem. If your rear tyres are down to the indicators, surging awd is the least of your issues. jangles
links to the aftermarket recommendations? a tyre stretched 1" more on the rear than the front will have the same rolling diameter? There are countless threads explaining why not to do it, doesnt mean people dont. It just isnt recommended by most people Edited July 25, 2011 by jangles Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/371913-volk-racing-ce28n-rims-tyre-package-aggressive-rims/#findComment-5931012 Share on other sites
