40kw @ all 4! - Dyno day pix and results...

Recommended Posts

Thanks to Nick and Sam for hosting us for a fun day :P

Not a huge turnout considering we were keen to do some fundraising for MAS, but many thanks to all those who came along. Ash arranged some fantastic trophies (can someone post a photo, I forgot) and the 'How much power does the Lada have' comp was great fun and helped raise a bit of coin :)

So...

Best power 4WD was JagR33 (Jack), best power RWD was Slayer_1971 (Rohan). Can't remember exact numbers - Rohan, Ash has your trophy.

The Lada made 40kw at all 4 wheels - with a top speed of 136km/h :)

Snowman (Andrew) was closest at 37kw!

The raffle was not run, as not enough people were there - so we'll hold it at AutoSalon, buy tix from the stand, to draw on Sunday arvo when the dyno comp finishes.

Thanks again to everyone who came along :P

Just a couple of photos:

if some people didnt know me i was the guy who turned up in the red ford raider that would easily put the lada niva gtr to shame (a mazda engine is better than a french engine/commy engerneering)

i had to leave because today was a greek festival and it was my final performance after 13 years, so yeah had to rest for that, and i also met steve bracks, but didnt hit him, he shook my hand....sorry guys :P

Wow...Didn't think I'd win a trophy for the best power RWD....I beleave my best run was about 161KW.....Had to leave early but James I've deposited some money into your account as a donation.

Thanks to all the organisers

Rowan

hahahahaha 40kw at all 4 :(

sorry couldnt make it... had to fix up mine and josies car

i have some things for the raffle... those bendix metals for the rears of a 32... kinda stupid if u dont have a 32 but u could always sell them for some bling bling :D

btw james i xfered the $10 into ur account for the shirts for me an josie cause i only gave u 50 at the last MAS meeting

And the trophy probably would have suited you too INASNT :(

Correction: there were plenty of people who turned up - its just that not a lot actually dyno'd their cars. Including me because I don't want to start all over again with dyno's - better to stick to same brand AND workshop for comparing future mods etc. I know it was a fundraiser but I didnt have the cash to do a dyno just for the sake of it.

Was good to catch up with people and talk to a couple of new people too :D

    • Hi all, I am putting an r33 gtst gearbox into a VL and have noticed what looks like a vacuum barb on the box (on top in the middle). Suspecting that it's a vacuum line but I'd like to double check, if someone could confirm the function of that would be great. Cheers in advance.
    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to some I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
    • Time for a modernisation, throw out the AFM, stock O2s, ECU into the e-waste bin. Rip out the cable throttle, IACV, pedal, etc. into the scrap metal bin. DBW, e-throttle, modern ECU, CANbus wideband, and the thing will drive better than when it left the factory.
    • I agree, don't go trusting those trims. As I said, first step is to put the logger away, and do the basics in diagnosis.   I spend plenty of time with data loggers. I also spend plenty of time teaching "technicians" why they need to stop using their data loggers, and learn real diagnostics.   The amount of data logs I play with would probably blow most people away. I don't just use it to diagnose. I log raw CAN data too, as a nice chunk of my job is reverse engineering what automotive manufacturers are doing.
