DC33VN
Hey guys, My skyline is due to run out of rego next month and there is a slight problem as i cant drive it until april next year and was thinking to leave it without rego untill i can drive it but i have been told that i will have problems getting it passed through rego. Getting a blue slip is no problem but iv been told i have to take the car over the pits and that i will have a hard time getting it registered again. I can get a blue slip for sure because the car is basically immac but im not 2 sure if i have to go through pits and was wondering if anyone has a clue if i do and if i will pass the pits. My cars got a exhaust and power fc other then that its basically standard. Another option is to hold it off for 3 months untill i need to get a blue slip and get it right before needing a blue slip. That wont work, they back date the date so if you get a pink slip on the last day (eg 3 months from expiry), you'll only have 9 months of rego left after you pay at the RTA. Make sense? Easiest is just to leave it registered the whole time. For rego questions I find its best to go direct to the person who will pass or fail and ask them. I use Greg at Autosport for stuff like that, he's about 20 mins from you or so, stacks of skyline experience. The Bogan
I 100% agree with keeping it regoed, the money wasted on the rego makes up for the dick around getting it re regoed, also you have no insurance when it isnt regoed. regoed regoed regoed Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/372221-rego-question/#findComment-5935634 Share on other sites
Galois
So much easier to get it rego'd. WIll he need ctp as well? I'm guessing yes... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/372221-rego-question/#findComment-5935726 Share on other sites
N1GTR
Of course, otherwise how will it have rego? It will not need comprehensive insurance as long as it's locked up somewhere safe, that's one way to save some money over the next 6 months or so Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/372221-rego-question/#findComment-5935732 Share on other sites
Galois
Ahh, okay. Was just wondering, as I've always sorted out ctp before getting rego renewed, but i've never needed to bring ctp info down to the rta... N1GTR
You cant renew rego without CTP, so every time you will have to sort it out before going to the RTA. Also, the CTP companies send details of payment to the RTA so you dont have to...
