My mate just bought a evo6 with only an exhaust and fuel pump, got steve knight to play around with it and made 250awkw on pulp. Steve did tune it on 30psi though haha, seems pretty high to me but i know nothing about evos.

Took my car to Steves just after I got it, asked him to check it out on the dyno and make sure its running ok

next day its running 25psi gone from 170kw to 220kw with just a cat back.. although it wasn't the safest tune around, 30psi on 98 stock turbo is huge

Evo6 wont sustain 30psi on a stock turbo. The turbo is nowhere near big enough to get it done. Take that as read ;)

30psi can be spiked through it low in the rpm range though, bend all the rods and get them to kick out the side of the block.

30psi is massive boost for any production petrol engine....good luck with it! :)

(Thanks Jet)

I can pretty much guarantee that there is no way in the world that turbo was running anywhere near 30psi. Anything over 25psi on a stock Evo turbo is pointless as you're only creating heat/stress for very little (if none whatsoever) gains.

My stock 2.0l engine/turbo Evo 6 makes a reliable 270awkw on 24.5psi with E-flex tuned by SKR. Thus far, it has been good enough for a string of 1:15's around Mallala and 1:04/1.05's around Wakefield Park. There's no chance the car would be making that much power and producing those lap times on 98. E-85 is my best power mod to date and if you haven't already done it, do it!

Pooraka have ran out twice on me before and once I had to wait half an hour for the tanker to move so that I could fill up. I keep 2 jerrys full at home now just in case

Hi guys, im fitting new injectors and fuel pump soon to change over to E85, am i able to refill the tank with E85 and drive it to the tuner without making any ecu changes? or would it be better to run the new pump and injectors on 98 to get it to the tuner and let them change the fuel?
