Cluster comes with 147Km on odo. Just goes to show how far wound back most cars are that are sold here (assuming fairly typical distance travelled). Having said that, I don't particularly want my car having an extra 50K added to the odometer. Then you got to explain to everyone who looks at it... lol

well your probably aware that 87-90 degrees of water is normal for our car.

its just how thin the radiator is and the load on it.

bigger radiator to take the load for winter will far out do the thermostat, especially if it ends up being too cold and keeps the car is a cold start map lol

Don't confuse the Nismo thermostat (which doesn't do that) with the Mishimoto thermostat (which does do that).

Bigger radiator would be more beneficial in the summer you'd think, yes?

yeh but there is a lower temp nismo thermostat available. isnt there?

i duno what your trying to get at

I thought Nismo was lower than stock, and Mishimoto was lower again.

Thought I read a thread on here where Scott fitted the Mishimoto and it was too cold and stuffed the car around, but I haven't seen much on the Nismo?

I run a 54mm race radiator and the Nismo thermostat.......no problems with my car with normal running in winter.....it hangs around 85 to 89 in traffic and about 84 on the freeway on hot or cold days....pretty sure from memory it was the same in summer.

On the track it dropped down 2 degrees and ran a perfect 83 degrees the whole time.......makes me think that it would do about 85-86 degree's in summer on the track!

You don't really hear anything about them because the Nismo just works.

no you can legally change them over and report the change, to be honest i dont know whats involved. mine was only a few thousand off so i didnt bother

Mine has 25,000k's on the odo now. ;) I still have the original I can give the next buyer but I don't think they will care. Its obvious an aftermarket Nismo dash will change the K's isnt it?

    • How do people sell and buy modified cars in Victoria? Because internet says you have to get a RWC every time the car is sold. In NSW the blue slip / full check is only required for cars that had their registration lapsed or are bought from interstate. The yearly pink slip / rego check just looks at tyres, lights, leaks and things like that. They tend to not care about modifications. So can buy a car that is modified as long as it was registered before modifications. And then keep driving it. With the lingering threat of getting defected and fu<ked at any time.
    • I think just better tyres, I'm just on Hankook RS-4 tyres at the moment, which aren't really meant for the track. Also, been mucking around with my suspension for sometime now and I'm really happy bow neutral it is. Car doesn't want to just oversteer or understeer like it did years ago.  Time to put on proper tyres one day and see what the shit box can do at SMSP, One Raceway and Luddenham again.

    • It's not "interpreted as" it literally is no more than 1 mod to the intake system. The turbo is considered something that affects emissions. So this has 0.0% chance of passing it's current state. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this would absolutely need thousands to get on the road. Perhaps the seller still has the stock bits, but god knows what state the OEM wiring is to run the ECU, whether an OEM cluster is still available, etc. Generally speaking, RWC testers in Victoria are more conservative than the rules actually are to boot, so even if the car will pass, they won't even want to look at it, nor consult the actual roadworthiness requirements. They will simply throw it in the too hard basket with a flavor of arrogance and move onto the next job, even if the mods you have meet the requirements of VSI14.
