Hi guys

took my car to the local brake shop to try and fix a problem that has been getting progressively worse over the last few months

Basically what happens is 80% of the time I drive my car the ABS/SLIP/VDC light will come on within 100m of driving. The ABS self check will kick in as per usual however it will keep pumping the pedal and make extra noise for a few seconds before the waring lights come up on the dash

I suspected that my drivers side front speed sensor was playing up as it seemed from the noises that the ABS control unit was trying to pump that brake and there was a clicking sound coming from it under hard braking or a low speed turn using 3/4 or more steering lock at low speeds with no brakes applied.

Iv also noticed my speedo drop down from 110 to 50kph and then kick back up to 110kph after a few seconds. The brake shop plugged in a tool that reads fault codes and a code came up saying that the front passenger speed sensor was faulting. Anyhow they pulled out all the speed sensors and cleaned them only to have the the same dash lights come on however no fault code was registered. Im thinking the drivers side front speed sensor is fubared and needs to be replaced

Anyone else had the same problem? Im busting to hit the track again but I wont until I can get this issue sorted as I don't care for VDC or traction control however I do like to have ABS when Im running semi slicks at the track

Hey 180,

Yep im experiencing the same thing atm although mine is the left wheel speed sensor and mine will be replaced next week.

its a real pain and not sure if you will be able to track it in its current state.

get it replaced asap!

Where did you end up getting your new sensor from? ebay/US or somewhere local?

My mechanic ordered it from Nissan i think. but i believe it would be cheaper from the US its going in next week
