I've got a switch in my car that I want on, but its very very very bright red and is a bit of a pain at night. What do I use [besides a black texta] to dull it down?

I don't want to have to buy a $20 can of VHT for a 10 cent size switch with an inbuilt light so I'm looking for what others have done.

If its a really flat surface, you can use the same material as the touch-screen phone protectors. Colour it in with your perm pen and attach it on the plastic like you would with a phone. This way, no glue or anything is required and you can perm pen it as much as you like.

What about sand paper? Sand it so it's not so smooth and clear, it will allow less light to pass through.

Try your local hobby store, they should have a little tin of hobby paint to suit.

Its the bigger red one and its dish shaped on top with sides as well, so not really going to be easy I guess.

BTW I could disconnect it as well [just the indicator light], but I would prefer to use it.
