Need Clutch Install - Anyone Recommend A Mechanic?

Recommended Posts

Not sure about the differences between GTST and GTR clutches, but I just recently got my R33 S2 GTST done.

I ordered an Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch Kit from www.kudosmotorsports.com who are based in queensland, delivered it was $485 compared to the $730 I was being quoted by my mechanic.

Got him to install it though, don't think he was too impressed ;)

4 hours x $70 / hour, I dropped the car off on a tuesday morning and picked it up on a Wednesday Arvo since it is right near work and it takes a bit of time to do since they needed to send off the flywheel for machining at another place.

So all up installation was:

4 x $70 = $280

+ $70 for machining the Flywheel

= $350

Edit: Just glancing at an older invoice from the same place (Cheltenham Service Center) who are apparently Nissan Specialists... Looks like their normal hourly rate is $80, might have dropped it a little cus I'm in there a bit, or because I was relaxed and didn't push them to do it all in one day (which is possible if really really required, for me it wasn't...)

It's not a matter of the differences in the clutches, but in the gearboxes. GT-Rs have all the ATTESSA plumbing attached. If you disconnect that plumbing, then you need to make sure it is bled properly when re-assembled.
