yea the unmarked bikes they've had for a while, thankfully they are a bit easier to avoid hooning, since even a R1 would decimate most skylines :P

im starting to think, similar to my SAU gps tracking thingy idea, that we need to do something similar for this, video cameras or smth.

I've had a couple of bad experiences with them, I won't go into detail again, but it has put me off them for life.

I don't care if there's only a few bad apples out there, even if the majority of them are doing the right thing. If they and John Q Citizen can put all modified vehicle owners in the Hoon basket, then I have no issue putting them in the same basket as what some of them have been found guilty of over the years.

Spousal abuse, assault, sexual harassment, breaking and entering, possession of child pornography, and only a couple of weeks ago, misconduct for falsifying log books to get out of speeding violations are just a few of the things that have happened within the last year or two. Just do a search on police corruption and you'll see what I mean.

I even remember years a go the 3 cops in Bunbury getting done for screaming through a multanova in a BMW wearing KKK hoods, and the cops who wiped themselves out near Kings Park on a high speed joyride.

They aren't above the law, but they do get away with a lot because unless you have either video evidence or mutliple witnesses, your chances of proving anything they did are futile.

Good luck keeping this thread going too by the way, my complaints and threads about things like this have been deleted before.

In my situation, my relo's had a party for the kiddo's birthday and it went till late. The police was ask to keep the noise down which is understandable but the type of language he used was outrageous. When questioned about his language, he responded: "I'm a cop, you better respect me if you know whats good for ya, it can get you out of alot of trouble" I looked at the other officers to see their reaction and it was as if its a normal thing to say. They are only brave behind their uniform and guns.

tempted to go the whole 'cant beat em join em' thing as it looks like fun hooning around all day and harassing drivers but it takes far too long to go through the training etc.

+1

I would love to just flick my lights on every time the traffic lights turn red or I need to make a illegal U-turn somewhere...

Once I saw a police car speeding ~130km/h on the freeway in the right lane, without sirens or lights & I think he was off duty since it was only 1 guy in the car (shouldn't there be 2 of them if they were on duty?).

After he went past me, I merged behind him & sped up to about 110km/h & he managed to scare all your usual right lane hoggers doing under speed limit off from that lane & I got home 5 minutes faster due to that.

yeah i've done that before. sat behind a motorbike cop on the highway doing 115kmh for about 30 mins. when he did pull off i just made sure he wasn't going to come back down the on ramp behind me then continued on my way at the same speed

LOL my father had one of those once.. Peak hour traffic on the highway.. Was all stopped.. Cop was in the emergency lane no lights.. So dad got behind him.. Got a fair way down as the cop sped up when dad got behind him. Was great for a laugh and got home alot earlier than he would have

well like so many people have said on here, there are a few good officers and a few bad ones.

an example for a good one, got pulled over for doing 110 in a 60 zone (was young and dumb at the time), but as we had just come out of a 80 zone, he booked me doing 110 in a 80 zone, to me i can see that he was being nice to me and did everything in his power to help me.

an example of a bad officer (not the best one), was cruising with some mates, not doing anything wrong, not speeding, no loud music, just enjoying the cruise, cop pulls us over and then spent the next hour trying to find something to book me for, treated me like i was worth less then dirt, and her partner was the same way.

and a example of a officer who was obviously board out of his mind, cruise again, had a small shower which soaked the road a bit, stopped at a red light, with a golf GTi in front, light turns green he goes my foot slips off the clutch spun the wheel for about 2 seconds, corrected the car, and proceeded to go home with my mates, he then pulled me over when i was like 5 minutes away from the highway, told me i was behind him when i spun the wheels, told him the truth of foot slipped and ended up correcting myself, he said that he believed me as he followed me for about half an hour waiting for me to do something stupid, then turned around and said, look just be careful and don't do silly things, to which i said, not planning to. He to was a nice officer

i had a police "officer" write a "facts" sheet about me to be tendered to court which was riddled with lies and some paragraphs completely made up. Some of the things he stated occurred, were physically impossible to do!!

Endered up getting out of it after a big representation and facts sheets from witnesses and so on to prove him wrong.

surprised ur dad got away with that Gimps, the speeding just over stuff i can understand though. been through a dozen traps myself without raising so much as an eyebrow at 10km/h over.

Whats with this 'facts sheet' malarkey? if no charges associated with it who gives a flying hootananny?

I had some good experiences and some bad/rude experiences with cops. It really does come down to the individual cop in question.

When I had long dreadlocks and was doing courier work I got to drive around in a tray back hilux. I went through an intersection and proceeded to the workshop I had parts to deliver to. As I hopped out of the ute I heard a police car hauling it around the back streets with their siren on and they proceeded to block me in the drive way and with in seconds were out and demanding my license. When I asked 'What have I done?' They responded - 'There was a robbery that just happened and the apparent driver had dreadlocks and was driving a white ute. They let me go when they could match my details or find any background information on me.

Another time I was at the same intersections (still had dreads doing courier work ) and I saw a cop car drive through the intersection and one of the cops eyeing me off all the way through. At the time that was happening I was scratching my ear. I new they were going to pull me over and there was no way to avoid it as I needed to get back to work. I got around the intersection in time to see them pull behind a van up the road. I drove past and they sped up quickly behind me and flashed their sirens. I casually pulled up (luckily) outside my workshop in the drive way and all the other employs just watched. The cop TOLD ME I was talking on the phone and he saw me. When I told him I wasn't he said, 'No, I saw you.' (when in actual fact it was his partner who was watching me). I proceeded to stand by my statement and he took my license, ran checks came back and said ' There's three way's we can go about this' here were my options:

1. He takes my phone down the station

2. He confiscates the phone, calls the service providers and proceeds to get all my recent log times and pin me

3. He browses my phone and checks all text messages and calls for recent logs.

Naturally I went with option 3 and after 5 minutes if looking through my phone in his cop car he comes back out and states. 'There's no logs but I'm still making a report log about this'. He was an ass and an arrogant f**k trying to meet his quota and (I assume) targeting me because I had dreads. Stereotyping bastards.

And then there's good stories, like a cop who admired my car and assured me that my clean car is what will save me. He browsed it, noticed my aftermarket blow off valve and pod filter and was more than happy to breathalyze me and send me on my way

So tonight I got baited by a Chevrolet ute, very tinted windows yet sans all the stickers you'd normally see. Definitely undercover cop car. The same happened about 2 years ago, same area, exact same behaviour, except XR6T.

Anyway, am wondering what we can do, as his driving was definitely beyond safe and could have caused an accident were I not paying attention.

It could have been a hoon, but the driving pattern and tactics are consistent with UC.

not an undercover, just a f**kwit. the chevrolet badge on a holden gives it away.

A few years ago I was sitting at the lights in my R at Ballarat Rd waiting to turn City bound on to the Ring Road, I spotted a WRX STI next to me and noticed there was a cop driving it.

.

This cop sat on my bumper and tried to push me past the 100k speed limit that I was sitting on to no avail, when he got bored with this game he suddenly did an illegal u turn over the Freeway in search of another victim.

As I got close to the Millers Rd turn off, a red Ducati Monster and the same cop in the WRX flew past me flat out at speeds I have never seen before ( I'd say 250K+) weaving in and out of traffic and leaving a trail of dust in their wake, how someone wasn't killed in this pursuit is beyond me and it still sticks on my mind today.

The Force: Behind The Line last night 12/2/12

Did I witness Police Misbehaviour or...

was it just kind heartedness?

Scenario:- A young guy named Josh gets pulled over by cops for a check.

1) He's driving his Dad's BMW 335i probably without permission, (although he denied it). His Dad's overseas.

2) He's a P1 driver with no plates displayed

3) He's driving a car prohibited for P drivers being a turbo. He denies knowing that the 335i is turbo'd

4) The car's insurance is null and void

5) The CTP insurance (in case he injured you or me) is null and void

...and he gets let off with just a caution > his mother has to pick up the car > he opens the boot to pick up the skateboard & skates off

I'm not even sure if he was carrying his licence.

How many of you, even if you were as polite as Josh, would have got away with just a caution? >_<
