Nice rant Bratva... We all agree with you.

But...

Unfortunately things will never change, the government will just keep installing speed cameras with the claim that they "save lives" and the sh!thouse license testing system will stay the same, breeding more bad drivers.

I hope you pin the b!tch to the wall and she has to pay every penny!

I had near the same accident once... I was going straight from gungalin towards belco, a car pulled out from the left on the highway and hits the side of my car. Their insurance covered all the work on my car. However I had comprehensive and the insurance company followed it all up for me. You may need legal representation....

I took about 7 photos not very clear because of no Flash but it shows us on the medium strip at the end of the roundabout. Not really possible to speed on that roundabout as the limit is 80km/h and don't think my car can turn that fast.

I don't mean to start nuffing, but what sort of R34 with coilovers cant maintain 80 going straight at that roundabout? From memory its a pretty smooth open roundabout?

Might just lack confidence in the car/himself. I know I underestimate what my car can handle

or maybe poor/worn tyres or slick surface or a heap of other things that just want to ruin your day....

From the left lane you have to turn heaps sharply as you enter the roundabout so unless you cut lanes maybe.

Could have something to do with it

Or not

Wow, you guys must have had some bad experiences in the past. I have been more fortunate.

I was driving along and some old guy tried to change lanes and hit my front quarter and his back quarter. So he tries to blame me, I tell him to get f&*^%. Get home call his insurance company (I said I have no insurance) and gave them his details, they said we'll chase it up. They call me back and they say its my fault, I ask them to put me on a three way conversation with the doosh, so they did, by asking him to explain what happened and me careful choosing my tricky tricky questions I nailed him with the insurance rep listening. Boom baby. Haha.

But seriously, good luck man, hope it all works out for you. And at least you have pictures. They will save youre ass.

  • 2 weeks later...

Update : Called insurance company, lady that put the claim against me stated that my mate was turning right (to Yass?) and lost grip and drifted out into her! But then insurance company read the police report and it stated that she did not know where the car came from and she didnt see what actually happened so the insurance lady instantly goes yep she was at fault! She had already payed the excess too.

Now i need pick a nice smash repair place that will look after my skyline well but needs to have connection with Suncorp. Gotta get assessement done by Suncorp first but they will pay for a taxi and all which is nice of them :)

When i took it to one of the guys to get assessement done they noticed that both headlights had cracked at the joins and the bracket snapped off so means i can get some brand new ones which arent all yellow and stressed :) And lastly call up the lady and ask why she was bsing

    • Do you plan on using 98 or e85?
    • This should be pretty easy. 200rwkW is just about the max power out of an RB25 stock turbo. So, 12ish psi on a 2.5L. That boost limited mainly by the prospect of seeing the turbine in the cat after the smoke show. A steel wheeled equivalent would likely happily do ~220rwkW at something like 17 psi, where it would probably be bumping into the usual limits of such a sized turbo. These things have like a .48 rear. You will not need the 0.86 rear. The 0.64 will be fine. In fact, if you were looking at various mid-200rwkW options for RBs, most of them would be in a 0.64 rear. So, I think you will definitely want to be no bigger than that for a same sized but probably even more efficient (at making power) modern engine.
    • Change the subframe bushes, transforms the car.
    • For something a little more serious, Davinci Resolve is about the best there is for free video editors. No expiration dates or watermarks, completely free.
    • Well, it's taken me until the last week of 2024 to actually do something on the Skyline but I consider it a good head start to 2025's efforts! I managed to justify (to myself anyway...) my purchase of the lift table. It made taking the rear subframe out a lot easier than it would have been without anyway! Everything is out and stripped down ready for a clean then powdercoating.  She's pretty grubby under there but pretty good condition for a 38 year old Japanese tin bucket. 12 years of zero street time have obviously helped that... I need to decide which of the factory suspension arms I will keep and replace so I only get what I'm keeping powdercoated.  Baby steps but it's a start!
