hey i have a nissan skyline r33 gts wih a turbo when i bought it but as im am still a p Plater keep getting in trouble by the cops for driving powerful vehicle and getting fines does any ome know how much it would cost to convert to non turbo and and what parts i would need thanks.. :)

It's not as simple as removing your turbo mate, the DET models vs the DE models have a different compression ratio, you're better off buying an N/A Line until you're off your P's.

Or move here to WA and drive any kind of car you want whilst on your P's.

Also, this topic has been covered so many times on SAU, you should try searching.thumbsup.gif

as was said above, it isn't as simple as just pulling off the turbo. if you were to go to the trouble of doing it you would end up a skyline that is about as fast as a hyundai excel, and i'm being deadly serious. in a race a completely standard non turbo skyline would leave you for dead. there is also the fact that the car is registered as a turbo, so just taking the turbo off doesn't make it legal to drive.

moral of the story, you should've used your brain and not bought a car that is illegal for you to drive. either sell it and buy a natro or park it in the garage until such time as you can legally drive it. the cost to remove the turbo and then reinstall it once you can drive a turbo car (if you are paying a workshop to do it) would be a large part of the cost of buying a non turbo skyline

seriously p platers are dumb, there are always threads about them wanting to take the turbo off, ffs cant you just go out and buy a non turbo, like me. its not that hard, and its quite simple to interpret the laws, so i dont see a problem.

p.s this is coming from an l plater, soon to be a p plater

..... Again ... Sell it and buy a non-turbo, Keep it and buy a shitbox till your off your P's or Keep driving around and getting caught are your only smart options.

If you even swap engines you will still need to get it engineered as above. It is not worth the hastle.

you are allowed to swap in another factory engine for the same model on p plates.
