So guys heres the deal,

I got a yellow sticker on my r33 series 2 gt-st for "not having a permit for my POD filter" BUT the cop said that if i place a heat shield on it, that it should be ok. or even if its not too large it shud go through fine. is this tru at all?

also ive got a few other mods that im a bit concerned about but over all my car is pretty stock. Heres a list of my mods and if yous cud let me no if its gonne b a problem or not it wud b much appreciated! Also, are they gonna check every inch of my car? or mainly just the POD filter as thats all the cop wrote it up for?

My mods are as follows,

Aftermarket Front Mount Intercooler.

Turbo timer

Boost gauge

Metal food pedals (not sure about if grip is sufficient)

Super heavy Duty clutch.

Stainless steal exhaust system.

Coil over suspension.

thanks guys, all help is appreciated!

Oh and one more thing. the engine was replaced not long ago but wasnt "registered" or reported or watever to the licencing center. cos apparently ur meant to report that. any way theyll pick up on it?

My comments are as follows,

Aftermarket Front Mount Intercooler. - should be fine

Turbo timer - needs to be disabled

Boost gauge - should be fine

Metal food pedals (not sure about if grip is sufficient) - needs to have rubber between your foot and the metal, so may need to change back to factorySuper heavy Duty clutch. - should be ok

Stainless steal exhaust system. - aslong as it's not too loud

Coil over suspension. - sometimes the pits complain if it's too stiff, but that's cause they're morons

Make sure there's no oil leaks.

And yeah pod should be secured but doesn't need to be enclosed. (most other states it does though)

All the times I've been pulled over here they have said how common it is for pods not to be braced, and how they liked how mine was. (sadly I still got defected twice for other shit)

pod filter no one cares as long as its not moving around.if u have a s/s intake for it they get all huffy and puffy saying you have a different turbo so if u can use the stock rubber one.

turbo timer doesnt need to be disabled.

coilovers are illegal if they are height adjustable because they arent height adjustable from factory. - sometimes they let ppl through tho so just wind them as high as u can and hope for the best.

did u go from a non turbo to a turbo motor if so u might need engineering. if for example just rb25det-rb25det no issues

i wouldnt bother filing out engine change number, pits will change it for u once u pass

car sounds 99% stock, long as theres no leaks or bad bushes/ obvious problems will be fine

p.s with ur metal foot pedals they have to either be literally bolted on so they cant move or have real good tred. in other news rip that shit off they are gay.

guys I was told by vehicle safety and standards last week that base adjustable coilovers are ok.

Doesn't matter what they tell you. Matters what mood the inspector that you get is in.

Some complain about coilovers some don't.

nahh previous engine was a rb25det so shudnt b a problem there? yeh the only reason i got the sticker was cos they saw me speeding but had no proof. so they used this to "punish" me. the pod isnt secured but its pretty small and doesnt flap around. the only thing worrying me is the tint. the back window is extremely dark. (cant even see my P's )

but if u dnt need a permit for the Pod filter , then that means the cop yellow stickered me for no reason?? as the only reaason he said he was doing it was cos of not having a permit for the pod/

took it too tint-a-car today.. they said darkest legal is letting %35 light through or more... my door windows were letting about %32 -%33 through.. so hopefully they wont b to uptight and let that slide...

BUT my back window was letting about %5 through!! lol so im screwed there.. defenitly needa get that ripped off..

Yes, remove the hella dark tint.

Yes, secure the pod filter - if it's not secured they were within their rights to defect you for it. Hell, I've been defected for a stock bov! Making a couple of brackets by cutting strips from a sheet of ally isn't very hard.

And yes, it really does depend on the inspector you get on the day.. when I took my 32 over with a fresh RB30DET (hadn't changed numbers yet) I think I got the best possible inspector I could get. Yes the engine was a whole litre larger but it only had a little RB25 turbo on it and looked pretty well stock under the bonnet. When he handed me the keys back he said "thanks for that, I _love_ skylines!"

I passed with height/damper adjustable coilovers, whiteline swaybars, adj. castor & camber bushes, full exhaust with a shitty cat, pod filter (bracketed down), button clutch, 3L, ebc and some other stuff. The only thing I didn't go over with was my 2-way diff as that would have been a deal breaker!
