Heading back onto topic, how many of the listed attending people would be interested in a shirt or hoodie, kinda like the Tokyo tour jumpers. I would be happy to design and organise it, and of course keep the cost down as much as possible.

Would be good to do I reckon and if everyone interested was happy to do so, there could be a small amount (say $5-10) dollars added to the cost price, used as a donation to SAU:VIC to help cover some costs for the whole event.

Let me know what you think people, and how much you would be happy to spend.. A hoodie would probably be a better idea considering the weather..

cost for the Tokyo jumpers was around $70 each Matty when I had them made. design costs approx $100 (one off) The more you make - cheaper it gets...

And Luke...you should come over!!

Matty, Shane has already run that idea by me.....there are a few issues however.

It's a one off shirt that will only be worn for that one occasion and with the hassle we've had organizing hoodies in the past (ie. getting them done quickly), there's a chance they won't be ready till after the event.

The other reason is that this is nothing like the Japan trip.....this is the SAU Nationals and as such should be represented by the official club shirts.....which we already have.

I don't want to poop on this idea any further but if you guys want to go ahead with it, you're more than welcome.........it just won't be a club thing, sorry

Sounds good Matty, the only thing is the mean temps are 21.6 and 24.7 degrees for October and November respectively, so would a t-shirt be more appropriate? Unless you were thinking for the nights because we already have club shirts - in which case you can just ignore everything I've said lol.

edit: Just ignore this anyway, I didn't see Pete's post because I was sitting on this page for a while before I posted.

Working on an after-trackday-party for the Sat night (starting say 7.30-8pm). Might be $20-$25 a head which gets fingerfood and bringing up a decent Melb DJ (or two) I know.

'Celebrating' is one thing us SA guys will beat you at, hands DOWN.

Point taken; with a bit of luck the 3rd batch of polo tops will be ready by then haha

Yeah it's a good idea in theory Sherlock, BUT we wouldn't want to step on Ash's toes re: merchandising - I am sure he will provide kick-ass event jumpers or hoodies to buy at the SAU Nationals!

I've given the final deadline on those club shirts. We WILL have them this friday. They have no more excuses.

I'm waiting for my club shirt too. :(

I'll believe it when I see it, lol

If they miss this deadline Roo, we'll drop by next week and introduce them to ground & pound.....I'll bring Carl (bezender) with me (grasshopper in training) :rofl2:

Talk about adding new meaning to the word "procrastination"

Big week... I'm totally exhausted :D

- 8 Hot Laps in 2 hipo R35 GTRs (Mercury R35/Mark's & Willall R35/Seb's). Both workshops are sponsors as well which is awesome.

- NPC Clutches chucking in the ring - 2 x $500 vouchers for prizes!!!

- Merch Pack being put together and samples/pics ready in approx 8 working days.

- $500 fuel voucher is now a $550 one

- S'n'S space will allow around 250 cars, maybe more.

Some even bigger announcements to come over the next few days with regards to the DVD etc.

Hopefully entry will be up within the next week as well.

Only bummer - burnout comp is a no-go after meeting with the council this week didnt approve it :(

Otherwise though, shaping up to be quite the event!

Yeah their idea was very different to mine and unfortunately no amount of planning would have fixed that. But no matter, can't win em all.

Might have to make it 3-days next year, and include DECA so people can get upto as much of that as they want in the space of 8 hours :D

    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
    • As I mentioned in an earlier post, I had some trouble with the Silvia's brakes dragging back in 2023. I managed to sort it out then, but the same problem came back to bite me late last year. Just take a look at the picture – I had a feeling the handbrake was acting up again, and I was right. Anyway, I'd been wanting to upgrade to bigger brakes for a while. Not that the Silvia's brakes were bad, but it was more of a "want" than a "need", you know? It was funny, though – at the time, I couldn't find any Evo Brembos, 350Z Brembos, or GTR Brembos for a decent price (of course, tons of them popped up online after I already bought my kit!). I ended up going with an F50 Brembo kit, which came with adapters, brake lines, 330mm rotors, and top hats. The F50 Brembo caliper was used in a few other cars too, like the FPV. I also decided this was the perfect opportunity to ditch the Silvia's ridiculous rear brakes and that awful handbrake (some of you were definitely right about that!). I picked up some R33 calipers and all the necessary bits – rear drums, backing plates, and new hardware to refurbish the calipers. Of course, it wouldn't be a project without a few hiccups. Turns out the brake master cylinder was playing up and basically (to put it simply) keeping the brakes engaged. I had it overhauled, and after some adjustments, everything was working again. The whole process took a while, as you can imagine. To top it off, the front right wheel bearings were shot and needed replacing too. This is a rare occasion where I'm posting an update while it's all still fresh! These pictures were taken just this afternoon.
    • I was just going to say that it's good to see you picking up the pace again. Hope the surgery goes well. More downtime just means more time to come up with new ways of digging a deeper rabbithole
    • How do they compare in size? I have the Yaris coil packs in mine and they work fine. But they are either bigger or sit differently so the engine cover doesn't fit anymore. Not the end of the world but not great either. Do the R35 ones sit flush?
