Hey guys so this is what's happening.

When changing from 3rd to 4th i can feel and sometimes hear the gearbox grind a little. Does not feel healthy at all. Was wondering if anyone could shed some light. Have read a little bit of information regarding the issue. But still don't fully understand. Could changing trans oil do anything? Could a possible leak cause this problem?

My foot is fully depressed on the clutch so that is not an issue. It's only 3rd to 4th no other gears and at a higher rev or speed.

Thanks guys any opinions and information would be appreciated.

its actually not that bad for a rebuild, if you take it out urself and deliver it to them. its about a 4hr job to get it in and out of the car, so that is where a lot of the cost will go. the actual rebuild itself shouldn't take more than about 4hrs, then you can make sure to use performance parts to make it laaast.

paying $1300 for a 2nd hand one, even if they think it is in good condition, is a risky endeavour imho.

If you pay to get your box fixed ask the builders what they think about Redline heavy weight shockproof. Redline don't recommend it for gearboxes ( they do suggest the light weight shockproof for worn boxes) i don't know why people do on these forums -I guess its akin to putting sawdust in - it quietens things down for a while but stuffs your box.

No one says put in heavyweight.

Lightweight is recommended for crunches.
