Hi gangs, just wanted to know which shop in the west can set up my coilover with a decent price. Been ringing around and the cheapest i got is $370 labour + 4 wd alignments. Is there any other better place/price?? And do i need to specify the set up? I dnt know much bout coilovers. Its a daily drive so i guess set it up for soft ride? Btw its bc br coilovers..

Why don't you just adjust it yourself? Doesn't it have a knob on top of each coil that allows you to turn up and down your ride stiffness?

It just takes a few trial and error to get it to what you like?

Do you have a Jack, a socket set, basic screw drivers, and a torque wrench? If so you can do it yourself quite easily do it yourself (not the alignment part obviously) but you should be able to change them if your good with your hands. If you don't have all these things you can easily buy them for less then what labor charges will be at any workshop

traction tyres down in rowville set my bc coilovers up

was around the 300 dollar mark for the labour, they didnt just wack them in and left it they set it up 100% and when i picked it up they walked me through it on how they set it up.

there would have been another charge for the wheel alignment, but mine was still ok so they just checked the alignment and didnt charge me for it.

$300-$400 is what i would expect to be paying for coilover swap out.

And then another ontop for the alignment and stuff which will take a while.

I also use Traction Tyres. Won't use anyone else after 4 bad experiences @ other places over the years.

Not really helpful given you are out west, but all my bad experiences were from the west/north unfortunately :(

I'll also take a stab you'll end up having to replace other worn parts in the front end. So expect the bill to go up a little more. Perhaps wheel bearings, tie rod ends etc. Those things get old and if not changed before they will no doubt be stuffed or close too it.

Centreline

72 Lipton Drive

Thomastown 3073

These guys are awesome. They may seem a little blunt and plain at first, but they're willing to teach, do a great job and Glenn gets real excited when you chat about KA and KB Lasers.

Thomastown shouldn't be TOO far from west side.

You may as well get it all done at the same place, don't see much point getting install done a place a) and then alignment done at place b) -

make the drive to Traction Tyres, definitely worth it.

Do you have sway-bars?

How come you asked abou sway bars?...

Does it make the installation harder?

Coz I got some Teins in my car and I need to install a pair of Nismo sway bars...

If you want someone to do it for you and also the alignment I definitely recommend traction tyres, I went to them after being recommended from the guys here and I am very happy with there work they did on my alignment on all my arms.
