S-AFC tune and install $300???

I just got a quote from unigroup for $300 to install and tune a S-AFC (blue screen) on my R32 GTS-t.

Is this right? cos I did a search and quite a few of you guys got it done for $120-ish. What's the deal?

sounds right to me.... 2 hrs to do a professional install. You could get a backyard bloke to do it cheaper

Go through the documentation for the thing, if your not sure about something then get someone to help you install it.

I think getting away with this for less than 400 bucks would be dodgy.

if uve installed a car stereo, u should be able to do the safc. just disconnect the battery and follow the instructions. take ur time and make sure everythin is correct before reconnecting the battery.

I'd say if have done if before, should only take you 15 - 20 mins MAX!

1 hour if you have never done it before, and you are triple checking everything.....

Tuning takes longer and is more expensive. Expect to pay up to $150 on that depending on what you want..... I wanted to A/F ratios to be a perfect 12:1 all through the rev range, so he took a little longer with me, hence I paid more (about $140 i think)

But anyone that charges over $50 to install one is ripping you off (unless they are making some sort of custom mount for it, then you pay for that too)

i thought changing front brake pads was easy so i timed myself. 1 front wheel took 15 minutes.

yeah i dont know too mucha bout them.. but my brother installed mine pretty easily 1 hour max.. you can get english instructions from the apexi website..

i got the instructions lying around somewhere.

For someone that has done several R33's with confidence, it is a simple case of splicing / intercepting a few wires, and sticking double sided tape to a bracket....... why should it take any longer??? Remeber we are talking about a professional here, not a novice....

yeah i remember it was really simple.. it was done awhile ago so i can't quite remember, but he didnt take that long.. i still think $150 is too much for an install..

less than 1 hour for mine.....everything double checked. Does doing it in the front yard make it better than a backyard job?

Mine took about an hour...but wiring it up so that it was good to go just took the aforesaid 15-20mins. The hard part was mounting it so that it looked nice and the wires were hidden. $300 is a pretty good deal if it includes installation and dyno time...
