Argh! i just typed out a heaps long message and it said not found or somehting stupid..

ok let me try again..

My R32 gts-t has headlight issues, my workshop informs me the reason one of my headlights doesnt work is due to the high beam/low beam switch and that i need a new one ($200)

just want to know if anyone else has had this problem, if so how did you fix it?

if its the whole stalk it could be $200.. but you should be able to get it from a wrecker for cheap. Start pulling apart your steering column up near the wheel. That will at least show you how easy it is to get out and replace.

Its weird you know..

like the knob and the stalk are two differnt bits .. i use the knob to turn them to off/parkers/on

the stalk just turns hi beam on..and off

however when i tap the knob the lights some time turn off liek a connection is loose

yet the machanic says i have to replace the stalk?

it doesnt make sence to me

i had to pay $300 to replace that switch because my indicator relay had burnt out. i dunno why they charged me $300, but it was under warranty so it didn't bother me.

when they pulled it off they showed me the smallest bit of contact had melted away, so you'd be surprised what will stuff that little switch

I pulled the knob end off the switch and theres nothing in there but plastic

the long bar switch that my indicators are on is a bit grindy, so i dont knwo if i should just replace the switch (but at $200!) or take it to an auto electrician and try and get them to fix it ( which may not be able to be fixed, hence costing me more money)
