new to skylines been into silvias for years but decided to build a r32 drifter.

im going to cut the crap but basically i bought a r32 rwd with a blown box only to find out it is actually a gtst4 chassis with the 4wd box that had been chopped/ changed to suit rwd application.

all the paperwork says that it is a rb20det rwd, so perhaps the car was imported like this? despite being caught off guard with a really f**king heavy gearbox i got it removed.

now i have a few questions:

there was a hydraulic line at the back of the gearbox when disconnected it leaked what looked like power steering fluid. is this connected to the hi-cas?

the x-member for the gtst4 and gtst are completely different. will i need to custom make one? can you buy conversion plates?

is there anything else that will not bolt up along the drivetrain like the diff? (already bought a r32 tail shaft because the 4wd box is different again pinch.gif)

The line going to the back is for the attessa 4 wheel drive system. The pump is above the rear diff and the reservoir is in the boot on the right hand side.

There is only a few crossmembers for skylines so im sure u will be able to find one that will fit.

Which cross member are you talking about? The main one under the engine is very very different between the 2wd and 4wd chassis, and you can't swap them between. But that's no problem as the one in the 4wd chassis is much better (stronger - it's basically the same as the GTR) anyway. You just bolt the engine mounts to it and away you go.

But if it's the gearbox crossmember that you're talking about - then yes, you will need to make something. I haven't looked closely, but don't think there's an easy way to sling a RWD gearbox mount from there.

thats good to hear, ill have to double check that it is a GTR engine cross member would be good to know since its going to be a track car.

Ive seen both the 4wd gearbox and rwd cross member lined up and they are completely different. im going to bolt the gearbox up and hopfully pin point where the holes line up on the 4wd drill/chop/change to suit :P

either that or weld up a new bracket for it. not difficult to do just thought id check here first before i mutilate anything!
