Fuel Vaperasion From The Cap

hi there,ive got an rb25det r33 ,i smell fuel sometimes in the car ,when i get in the car i was driving out & in the mirror i saw large vaperasion from the petrol lid,i dont know if its an original cap or not /its plastic & in english.

ive got to put new spark plugs to. but i think its a different issue. can some one help mee pplease.

Do your fuel cap up tighter.

fuel vapor from the fuel cap is normal, not sure about the smell of fuel in the car though. go over your fuel lines and fuel tank and look for small leaks

I think it is quite normal. I have the same thing, as does my mates 32. Had a look on the hoist but there is nothing visible anywhere, it's just the fumes and smell.

Sarge rx8 just covered this does you cap go pshhhhhh when u open like it's pressurized ? I'f not your filler needs to resealed u should not be able TO smell raw fuel in the car just fumes of it running rich which smells fuely but not raw

Go to your local supercheap. They stock a variety of fuel cap sizes. get one that will seal.

As i said in sarge's post. Take the fuel cap off. Then pry the compliance insert out. Clean it up and use engine sealant to reseal it and the refit it with the cap. Let it set.
