TT i noticed u had a few complaints at the end of stage one, i hope you brought them to octagons attention (i took your time sheet off you), the optical start system had many faults with it and as a result wasn't used in the end.. has nothing to do with me at all though!!!

I also did your time sheet Duncan, but didn't realise it was your car till u pulled away and i saw the GT3 brakes!

Anyway good to see you guys up the pointy end!! stay there!

i told jason white he had better win OR ELSE!!!

So Tim are you officialising? volunteer?

The car from our team is 811, Hawkins/Warren, black R32 with team raceworx all over it :D There's probably a few skylines with the GT3 stoppers coz brakes are free, they look pretty nice, eh?

According to the most recent update the boys are in 66th (stage 6 of 8 for today)

Hope the day went well for all the skyliners

Well done to the Whites yesterday equal first with Greg Garwood (GT3) also seven seconds in front if Jim Richards, they said yeaterday that they reckon they can keep up this speed for the whole event.

Might finally be a win for the skyline in Targa if they don't break down again.

All we have to do is pray for rain on Saturday and Sunday.

Unfortunately their was a skyline broken down out the front of the silverdome last night blown head gasket I think so it wasn't really a great day for all the skylines.

Hope you guys all go well.

Cheers Lavers

Duncan, yes i am an official.... My dad is a Senior Official

I only did stage 1 cos its closest to home and i can't miss too much work.

when i get a cams licence i will be able to do something more exciting

GT3 brakes stand out mate, unlike the array of Harrops, AP's, Willwood, STD's and White Hots!

Lavers the skyline broken down didn't happen to be the purple car of Beables? that was dripping large amounts of oil at the end of stage one.

Yeah pretty sure it was the car of beables was that the one which had all the different layers of paint.

They were doing the head gasket replacement by themselves in the dark out the front of the silverdome. So best of luck to them hope they made it to todays racing.

Cheers Lavers

yeh the 'TRICK' marble paint aka. black coat, purple coat, gladwrap on it while its still wet!

goodlcuk to them but i doubt they would get it done on the side of the road. if you have ever worked on a R33 u will know that its a pain in the ass! doubt they will be back in if thats the case.

TT wasnt listening to faithfull sidekick!!! Fired into a "!R2 >" thinking it was a R3 Knocked down a few blades of grass - but the 4 tonne of rocks holding them pulled us up...

But not before our little gts-t dropped only 35sec on Devonport (Top 10) and 17sec on Nook (Top 20)

Was on the pace on Sheffield until I parked it badley!

Been on the Chassis Rack today to move the shock tower forward 50mm and down 60mm.

Back on the track tomorrow (Hobart) to have some fun...

Bugger!

Top speed on Devonport was 219kph (PFC) minus a bit for 50 series tyres, so the little girl was haulin the mail...

ouch!

Well done until then, sounds like you guys were running really well....and it shows that you're running damn close to the limit if the difference between L2 and L3 is a rock wall!

Hope you got whats left of the car back on track, good lcuk

my 2c...

I don't care who wins as long as Brock and Richards aren't on the podium.

Better yet... seeing a DNF next to there names would also work for me...

I don't wish harm on them... but that's all I've seen of the targa in the media and I'm sick of it.

Brock: "Jim's driving a 2wd this year... I think we stand a chance of beating him"

Well... you have the whole of HRT putting years of V*superTAXI knowledge into your car... Jim is prob doing it himself in his backyard.

I'll take a few deep breaths before I get carried away, but damn... I hate brock, he's soooo over-rated

... Targa Tom... the good ol' GTiR didn't rate a mention... WTF is up with that? It's still a nissan, or are you PRO Skyline?

I agree with u Phorj on the Brock part but not Richards. How could u have a go at the very guy who started the godzilla fanfare.

I just don't think its right that you walk in every night to the exhibition and their is the brock monaro being stripped down to pieces while every other car is just parked.

Unlucky Targa Tom but thats motorsport hope u guys push hard and turn a few heads over the rest of the event. Hope to see u on Saturday at Symmons

well as usual the sideling put on a good show, crick wrote his car off, so if anyones looking for some GT3 brakes there they are (i get first dibs!).

and a big disappointment, local boy, leo handojo in the black 33 GTR who wasn't even in the event for racing, just as a camera car had a head on with a tree.

phat_r33 is helping him arrange new parts

you'll like this then:

apart from this part down the bottom:

Jason White cut 10-seconds off Sullens' lead in the Howden stage and then took the lead in the following Oyster Cove stage. However, the Nissan developed engine problems

ahh well, richards is out in front again and for a skyline to catch him now is going to be a huge effort, especially if the problem with the white's 34 doesn't improve.

yep, i reckon richards has been saving his tyres(more than usual) this year, and will have 'another gear' to use today.

from the targa website:

The all-Tasmanian team of Jason White and John White, who were joint leaders at the end of the first leg, and then held first place for part of the third leg, dropped from third to fourth after their Nissan Skyline continued to be slowed by an engine misfire. They began the fourth leg just 13-secs off the lead, but finished 2-mins 12-secs behind Richards in first place.

"The team worked on the engine last night trying to fix things," said Jason White. "It's losing power at 6,000-rpm. We think it's a 'spark' problem. The electrics and fuel pump have been replaced, and tonight we will change the wiring loom for the motor to try and get it right for tomorrow."

hopefully theyve sorted it out, they seemed to be going pretty slow through the hobart domain leg yesterday morning, and the way he took one of the corners was pretty crap

by the way, ive put some pictures and videos up in my gallery, and ill put more up if people want to see them :)

    • thanks for heads up on actuators - will sort something as back up or solution as yes dont need that have enough trouble but no doubt some addition of something to spares boxes is required yes have a clue about WTAC but nothing has been officially put out yet so will wait to see exact details Pro class is, has been and will become a draw card for lap records and one off builds for show and thats about it I think - be interesting to see how open they make it Pro am is the old Pro in reality Open class will be split into 2 with slicks and 050's with no doubt slight variances in allowable drivers and changes in aero Clubsprint + apparently a true street class   They have to and are refreshing it all and bringing things up to current standards and need to 100% adhere to rules because whether people like it or not / or say it or not - for alot of competitors it is sheep stations and has been for a while when Im getting told I was illegal because i cut my rear bumper too high and yet others where in the grey areas of legality with everything from engines, suspension, ride heights and more serious influences it actually got quite out of control and heated this year so as much as I may be impacted by some of the changes and prob spit the dummy when I have to spend money changing things I think its a good thing for all
    • I can’t tell if it’s suspension related or maybe wheel bearing or motor mount.  IMG_6209.MOV
    • Start with a multimeter, and see if you're getting power at the TPS. There should be a manual for your car somewhere on these forums and it'll have the info for what closed TPS signal voltage is, and how it should sweep to full throttle. Same as for other sensors / valves.   Have you checked things like your base timing etc? See if anything looks amiss there too?
