Removing Dowel

Hey guys I'm trying to remove the dowel for the flywheel out of the crank I've tried vice grips and I can't get it what's the best way to get it out

Vice grips, twist and pull should be the easiest way?

Adjust them so you can use the tip of the vicegrips to grip it tight

Can I grind it off flush

If its that bad try grinding a couple of flats on it and using a spanner (after soaking it overnight with CRC or similar).

try heating it up with a small heater till its hot to touch, and lots of wd-40

Heating the crank is not a great idea......

If it's not twisting then you have a bit of an issue. It shouldn't be that tight

Get a hammer and a punch, knock it hard sideways in ALL directions then use side cutters or a claw hammer to pull it out

Do not grind it off. You will ruin the crankshaft if you nick it

Look mate i wana kno y you need to remove it for starters because personally i have no expierence with skyline flywheels but a dowl on the crank is usually to dummy proof install of a fly wheel for timing reasons in some vehicles im not sure on nissans tho also if its completely necessaey to take it off without touching the crank cut it off then drill it out only so far in as its sticking out, start small n work ur way up untill u can use a small flatty to pick the remainder out use a chizel effect if u kno what i mean
