just installed a FMIC last week, noticed that the fan behind it isnt running when car is idling, or with a little rev.

not sure if it was runnign before either, never took much notice of it

ive attached a picture of the fan im talking about

wondering if its a thermo related fan only runnign when needed to, or if its supposed to run all the time ie mine is stuffed.

im no car genius so i dont even know what the fan is for.

ive tried the car idling with aircon, without aircon, and both with a little rev, still no movement.

any help on this would be great so i know how to fix this issue or if its a non issue.

thanks

I believe that fan only kicks in when your engine is above a certain temperature AND you have your A/C on.

Thats how mine has always been anyway...

EDIT: Before I got my A/C repaired I used to drive around windows down in 40C+ weather (not pleasant ) & I never noticed it spinning, however once I got the A/C fixed I started noticing it kicking in at certain times when driving with A/C on.

Usually when I'm idling at the lights & the engine temperature goes up by a couple of degrees.

AND if u decide to get the big ass plazmaman intercooler you will need to remove this fan and replace it with an aftermarket one as the stupid thing is about 2 inches too thick :P
