Sorry if this has been covered before, I had a look and couldn't find what I was looking for.

So I've noticed with all the rain lately that there is water getting in driver's side rear indicator in my car. Every time it rains heavily the indicator is filled up prety much 50% and it looks terrible, plus I'm sure it isn't really good for the car. I had a look and couldn't really see where it is getting in from. Has anyone else had this problem before and solved it? I'd like it to be fixed before I get any rust. I'd like a cheaper option than chaning the boot seals because I know they are rather expensive.

Dylan.

I actually pulled out my drivers side rear tail light today for the exact same reason, I just drained it out for the time being but I've put it down to the black silicone/glue thats around the tail lights being the culprit, don't get that stuff on your hands if you can avoid it :P

You should see my headlight right now fml. And back in the days, my old skyline had about 1cm of water in the rear tail light. That black windscreen stuff is the win.

Get the black stuff, in there, everywhere. Pull the light out, clean the old shit out and put the new shit in. You'll see what I mean.

I had the exact same problem on the same side. I removed the plastic cover, removed the old sealant, and put new mastic sealer in there. But to no avail, it kept filling up regardless. A good way to find the leak is to use a spray bottle full of water.

Lightly mist the problem area with water, INSIDE the car, then use something along the lines of talcum powder. Put the powder on a tray and use an airgun, or even your breath to blow a fine layer of powder everywhere around the offending area. Let it dry, then hose the shit out of the OUTSIDE of your car and you'll very quickly find the EXACT route the water is finding its way in, as there will be a clear run through the evenly spread powder. Helped for me anyway.

Good luck

I can tell you where its from. The gutter in the boot leading the water around the tail light to the center garnish. Follow that route and you'll find that its either seaping in around the lugs for the nuts or in that area. Be generous with this glue shit.
