Yesterday I installed a carbon boot lip spoiler purchased from Kukumei Motorsports on eBay.

http://www.ebay.com....af#ht_500wt_922

For less that $200 AUD delivered (within 7 days!) I was extremely happy with the quality of the product, fitment was simple (quality 3M tape supplied) and most importantly it covers the plugged holes we had in the boot since removing the previous owners cheap-ass wing.

A couple of pics attached...

Thanks for the positive reply's guys. As money permits, the wife would like to fit a full kit and has showed a real interest in the R35 GTR kits getting around. I'm in two minds on this but hey, its not my car and if thats what she wants, thats what she will get - happy wife = happy life!!!

wing looks good!

did u patch up the boot holes at all? if not water may still get in and cause rust over time.

pls do NOT get the R35 gtr kit, it looks sh*t.....

Holes were taped off so I am hopeful that this will keep them as rust free as possible. Time will tell I guess. As I said, I am not keen on the GTR kit either so a bit of gentle persuasion will be needed to find a kit thats more suited to the V series. There is plenty of images on G35driver, Google images etc that I am confident will make her see it my way!

Hey Andrew, just a thought regarding the body kit.

Since it's your wife's car, I am guessing she will do more driving daily. In that case, I would suggust getting a subtle and not all-out kit like Greddy, Chargespeed, etc. V35 are pretty low from factory. Even with 19 inch wheels and low profile tyres on mine, I would scrapped on bumps if I don't slow down. After putting on Veilside + Webersport body kit, I am not confident on driving on ramps that look high anymore.

So unless the car is only driven on weekends from point A to B on the road that you know very well, it won't be a good idea. Just a subtle kit like JP Visage, Nismo or even lowered with no kit look good for me. :)

    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
