So after a little while out of the performance car market we thought it was time to try something different.

We wanted a fairly new car so went looking at the 2012 GTR which we love but just did't want to spend that much yet and well lets be honest in two years they are a much better price. The 2011 infinity G37 from europe was another one but 75000 landed and no turbo or

manual like option was still not ticking all the boxes.

So we have jumped over to a car that is so different but still powerfull and what a Joy to drive.

It is a My11 BMW 335I M Sport with pretty well all the options and in the best choice of colour Black. Perfectly matched with a Dual Clutch Transmission that feels pretty well the same as a GTR on changes and downshifts.

Well more chat later I will throw up some pictures now. Sorry for the quality of the pictures i will upload some better shots through the week, just been so busy and only took these tonight.

It's no GTR and trust me it is next (After driving this though it will probley be next to a new M3 if they change back to a straight 6 turbo or the new M5 Motor) but it sure is one awsome machine to travel long trips and not have a sore back and just make most cars

look with shock when it leaves them behind.

So any ways hope you like. :-)

What do you think will happen to the 335i in 18 months?

You'll still drop 30-40k as you purchased new.

Could say the same about a 2008 335i with 30k on the clock given they sell around 80k!

Still a nice car either way. :)

I do agree on a new car yes and this is why i would not pay 145000 for a new one over a GTR. I should have said but the car is MY11 but 2010 ex Demo with 1500km and trust me we got it at the 100000 mark not the 140000 mark they are on car sales for.

So resale will be alot better then most.

Also i was compairing the cost of the 2012 GTR we want to the amount we paid for the 2010 my11 335I. Also M-Sport DCT makes a difference to resale as it will be worth more then the standard auto 2008 models. Be interesting to see...

Sorry about the confusion...

Great cars :)

Dad's got a space gray 09 335i M Sport. I absolutely love the DCT!

Sure is a great car. No GTR but better seats for the long trips we do and with 225kw at 5800 rpm and 400nm at 1200 - 5000 rpm. This is before we fit the BMW Performance Engine package giving it 250kw and 450nm i would say at the price we paid it is one hell of a car.

As you have said the DCT is so good to use and along with the Factory covered Launch Control feels like 1000nm.

09 had the push pull dct did't it. Whats it like?

Nice car gt-r would of been nicer though :)

And held its money better :)

Not to sure about the money being better. 09 GTR ( No GPS, No Launch Control) is about $120000 that is a $60000 drop and $20000 more expensive then more this car. 2009 335I DCT about $90000 that is a $25000 drop.

I am not saying the GTR would not be better but it is not the same sort of car and well we want a 2012 GTR or none at all :-) lol. 2012 GTR will come but when the price comes down on a ex demo like the BMW did then i am in. :-)

BMW does still turn heads though and damn just a true race sound under hard acceleration and quite when cruising...

Congratulations on an awesome buy buddy!

top effort!!!

Bet it goes like the clappers!

Have fun but watch out for the police.

Have all my points at the moment... Have to watch it 100 comes up real quick ... You go to over take and get a little warning bell and then you feel disappointed cause you want more. lol

Yeah it's fine. I havn't driven the 2011 model so don't have anything to compare with.

Dad's doing the BMW Performance package aswell when he gets back from Afghanistan. Might look into a proper tune aswell, will see.

Only thing we have done mods wise is a BMW Performance carbon rear spoiler, BMW Performance black kidney grills and a Duke Dynamics carbon rear diffuser.

Well i will have to take you for a spin next time your down this way or if we head back up to see family.

Not sure how much i will do to the car as we will only keep it a couple years and it is great fun as it is. Quite when cruising and just right when you floor it... Such a well finnished car also materials etc...

Laters.:thanks:

Congrats on such a great car. I still remember test driving the first 335i after it's launch and felt like stealing it! I can't help but feel though that if a low Km BMW-serviced E46 M3 came up, I'd take that and pocket the change.

True they are close in power but was a good deal and has a few M bits on it. so still has a bit of the look... Love these wheels..

If the new M3 goes to a turbo 6 i am going to have to buy that and a 2012 GTR :-) BMW such a nice car to drive hey. Or what about a M3 with the new M5 Motor now that would fly...

Oh ok, cool. So you would have worked on varsity lakes then?

No not me. We do Hospitals, laboratory Buildings, Civil water and sewer pump stations, Shopping Centers etc.

We don't do land developments or houses. Only the big stuff

 Well the car is at BMW as i type this getting her self a little bit of a power boost already.

They are fitting the BMW Performance Engine Package

Can't wait till Monday when she comes home with a minimum of 450nm at 1200 rpm and 250kw...

For thoes interested will post some better Pictures and driver experiance on Tuesday :rofl2:

    • I believe Unimog is the only vehicle that has it (from the manufacturer). I haven't seen aftermarket permanently connected kits, but I haven't looked either.
    • Ha ha ha, can't overthink when exhausted... Oh how I wish I had that power! I can be absolutely dead set shot, and my brain will still go "we need a good 3 or 4 hours to just think about everything and anything before you may sleep... My biggest thing is making sure I give myself enough sleep. I don't operate on even 7 hours of sleep! I attempt to give my body 9.5hours sleep a night to be able to function. I don't sleep the whole 9.5, but I need to make sure I offer a big window. I also take a single supplement, which is to help with long term health, and fighting inflammation, and I notice it helps massively. Especially me sleeping, and just less "achey" in the body. Have also kicked sugar, and gluten. A majority of people with ADHD don't go well with gluten. It causes a really interesting natural opioid overdose in the brain, which causes bodily issues and sensory issues.
    • Yeah that's what I meant, permanently connected not manual
    • Yep. But typically that's just run a hose down to the tyre while stationary.   Oh and the Unimog will automatically air up and air down tyres from the onboard computer for you too.
    • There was a good video somewhere, maybe Kurzgesagt that linked physical activity to ADHD/Anxiety/Insomnia etc. Basically the body WILL spend energy doing something if you don't spend it doing anything physical. It isn't fun, but I personally have noticed I've never been overthinky, or unable to sleep if I'm physically exhausted from doing a lot. The musings around it seem to indicate that this is one of the reasons/mechanism that physical activity improves mental health/wellbeing etc, by more or less not using that 'extra' energy to overthink, be anxious, inflammation, etc. There's also the fact that every obnoxious exerciser ever says it's great and helps which is extremely annoying. Like people who say the same thing about travel being the best thing ever. I mean, they clearly are, but blah. I started doing a LITTLE myself (think 3x15min per week) and honestly did notice the benefits, aiming at life quality when older. Which is sooner than you think. Getting something into your routine that you can actually make a routine has helped me at least. This post brought to you by procrastination between sets.
