Hey guys.

i know prior to actually taking the plunge, there was a few comments round here which alluded to the fact that you may be able to install a OZA395-E2 type plug (NGK/NTK) on an R34 GT-T (Neo). Rather than forking out the huge price for a Nissan one, and after discussing with Kudos motorsports on the phone for a little while - i took the plunge and purchased the 395 plug and put it in my car.

few notes for those doing it after me:

1) disconnect plug + take off the shield which holds the o2 sensor plug. (10mm spanner - 1 bolt). -

2) definitely definitely do NOT use a regular spanner unless you know what your doing (or unless its offset) - you will burr off the o2 sensor, then your flucked.

3) in addition to above, try buying a proper o2 sensor socket (22mm off ebay - they're cheap as).

4) in addition to the above x 2, i used a spark plug remover tool. who knew that some spark plugs were 22mm?

5) spray WD40 on the thread, give it some hits with a hammer, spray wd40, hit repeat, warm up the car, let it cool down, hit, spray.

6) it will eventually come loose, it may not look funcked - but if your reading this thread, it probably will be.

7) now, while i was doing this above the plug was disconnected from the ECU / car....(as per #1). Cut & strip the wires (3 wires) about 3-4 inches below the plug on the o2 sensor.

8) get your new plug, cut its plug off and strip the wires - tighten new o2 sensor into dump pipe.

9) join the wires in the following manner (it obvious): Black -> Black, White -> White, Black -> Black. (doesn't matter which black goes to which black, crimp that shit nice and tight.

10) put the heat shield back on the car (10mm), join the plug back up with the o2 sensor, and join it back on the heat shield (should still fit as we kept the original o2 r34 plug).

11) clean up engine bay, make sure stuff isnt sitting on rocker cover etc.

12) bridge the consult port and rev above 2,000 rpm and make sure it passes as per the manual!

13) celebrate!!

to note:

original part number:

22690-AA00

new part number:

OZA395-E2

to clarify: this is a Zirconia 3 wire, 22mm thread which the 33 / 32 boys are using.

to triple clarify: this definately works on an r34 with proof that it fixes fuel economy.

if youve done this and havent fixed your fuel economy: then its either:

- AFM (clean this out, specially if youve changed your filter).

- AAC Valve (search)

- coilpacks

- sparkplugs (pull them out and check the condition on them, heaps of guides)

- tuning (get a nistune - get it dyno'd)

- your right foot (control it).

hope this helps all.

Tim
