Hks 2540 Turbo On A Rb25 Neo

Hey guys im getting a HKS GT2540 turbo for my r34. i got a really good deal out of it, But im still not to sure about it , many say its good, many say its not, Is it suitable? WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Does it matter if it's good or not if you already got one? It may not be the best out there, but it will make numbers like 370 flywheel hp. Been in a car with this combo. Nice torque in the midrange, pretty ordinary top end though, rally car style. Compared to factory turbo it's certainly an improvement. Boost was at 1.5 Bar.

Personally i think the 2540 is a little tiny bit too small for the 25, more suited the rb/sr20

By the sounds of it its too late, but I'd buy a brand new Hypergear bolt on turbo setup before buying a used HKS GT2540.... not a fan of them, myself.

passengered in an S2 RB25DET converted S13.3 Sil80 with a HKS 2535 just last friday. tuned to 320rwhp.

went awesome no problems at all.

HKS GT2535 are a different turbo though, and not bad. He is talking about a GT2540..

It will work, and make more power than the stock turbo - just it won't be as nice as it could be.

Yes they have a 76mm 46 trim T04E compressor wheel which is a bit much for the GT28 turbine , it will work but not "spool" as well as some of the other compressor wheel options .

HKS replaced it with the GT2871R 52 trim and with their housings call it GTRS .

AFAIK they both use the same HKS turbine housing which can take any Garrett cartridge using the GT28 NS111 turbine . So , GT2860RS/"GT2530"/GT2871R 48 62 56T and the HKS "GT2535" .

I would say it spools nicely on an RB25 with 0.64 a/r housing. Felt good at least. But it does surge a bit.
