trust me Ash they are, but 3 dead OCZ drives out of the 20 or so in circulation in and out of the office in peoples home pc's etc dosen't really fill me with confidence vs 0 dead raptors

They aren't if they are dying/corrupting. And this is the major issue I have and the reason I've not upgraded.

Reading some reviews that actually do some proper testing and investigations, most of the feedback does not instill me with a great deal of confidence.

No doubt they are faster etc, well aware of that - but losing data is a PIA, rebuilding the machine, intermittent issues... None of this I've ever had with HDD's, and I've got 10 running 24x7 and have for years.

it's only the Sandforce ones that are problematic, our first batch of Latitudes with the OEM Samsung ones are solid as rocks, despite being imaged multiple times and used quite a lot.

From what I've read, data is actually safer on SSD than mechanical disk
