hahaha ok simmo  Im all for the aid of science mate i wonder if Garrett will pay me for advertising their product  ???

Profec is good, because you can show a peak hold value!

So load up in 4th from 3000rpm with camera on tacho, then when you hit 1bar back off and show the profec peak reading!

For science :)

Mick was kind enough to give me another drive of his car this afternoon with the final tune.

All the initial impressions hold true. It drives beautifully everywhere and keeps delivering right through to redline. It still feels like the GTX wheel is a bit less punchy between 3,000 - 4,000rpm compared to my GT3076. This is bum dyno opinion only. Mick's car feels much quicker and more lively everywhere since going E85.

I thought I should break the good news before Mick gets around to it. Mick has decided that he is going to make a merge collector twin scroll manifold to see if he can make the bottom end even stronger.

Good on ya Mick you champion.

lol

Glad ya liked the drive Andy thanks for the drive impressions and making more work for me now telling the internuts im making stuff lol

Cheers for the ongoing feedback, its really interesting - sounds like a nice setup and I bet it will get real fun with a decent exhaust (and intake) manifold. Definitely not saying it isn't already, amazing power for a bolton setup :)

Wolverine, so you are selling Micko on TS - any chance you will take a page from his book and go E85? ;)

If E85 moves to a suburb near me and I find a small money shrub to change ECU + E85 sensor for multi fuel I am in like Flynn.

Mick is getting very good economy which is what makes his car even more impressive.

On the TS thing, I was just ribbing Mick that there is no way he stays satisfied with his setup. I could tell after he drove mine and looked underwhelmed (and it isn't that slow in the first place) but he was waaay too polite to say so. Prior to E85 he looked more impressed with mine.

If i made it myself itd probably cost me bout $200- $300 being generous in fittings id say by the time I got a manifold flange laser/water cut and elbows and a TS T3 flange but id make it outta heavy material though :whistling:

How much would you be looking to make one up? Im trying to source a good qualtity TS with a t4 footprint.. Not having much luck :(

Did i really looked underwhelmed with your car Andy???

I like how your car drives mate its very torquey and linear in its power delivery it feels VERY strong all around which impressed me more than i may have let on.

Maybe its that extra WHACK E85 gives my midrange when the boost comes on makes it a bit more thrilling so to speak but your car is a very formidable street package Andy make no mistake about that

Yeah im quite happy and surprised at the fuel consumption as my economy has only increased 10-15% MAX and at 30+cents a litre cheaper is bit friendlier on the wallet...

Plus i just love that sweet sugary smell dont need an air freshner anymore more  which =less $$$ again haha

Thanks for following my build Lithium  it really is a great fun street setup and if boost came on slightly earlier it would be close to being the perfect street package in my opinion knowing what i know now and if you built a twin scroll GTX3071 with external gate on E85 it could be the ultimate in response and power on the street :ninja: BUT for the simplicity "bolt on" setup and the price of around $5600 in parts plus around $2000 in labour as i didnt do the spanner work myself to achieve 450rwhp isnt that bad imo yeah i coulda got out of it alot cheaper with Kando turbos and 2nd hand parts but being the brand whore i am using "top shelf" parts so to speak still gave me a result im happy with

Thanks mate yeah will be very interesting on a back to back comparison on the same motor hopefully it doesnt lose up top too much if i make myself a some headers

well done on the build and results.. It should be interesting to see if the twinscroll loses anything up top compared to the single scroll

I don't know if you guys have discussed it, and its really not something that can be easily compared - but any thoughts in how the GTX3071R and GT3076R might compare with each other with all other things being equal?

I'm a little excited to have caught wind that ForcedPerformance are bringing out a GT3073HTA turbo - that could really mix things up something nicely :)

As far as I can tell, its basically going to be the same housings as the current Garrett 56trim GT3076R/GTX3071R/GTX3076R range but with the same 73HTA compressor wheel as the FP Green HTAs which were proven to make near 450whp on pump gas EVOs, or over 500whp on E85.

Forced Performance rate the comp wheel at around 55lb/min, so in a similar range to the GTX3071R and GT3076R but with an overall smaller/lighter compressor wheel... it should be a seriously responsive beast and in my eyes could be basically the perfect match match for a GT30 turbine that never existed.

I wish these things existed when I was shopping for a bolt on turbo back in the day, have seen no results but its an experiment I would most definitely do if I hadn't already.

A forced performance gt3076r would be a very interesting option. There are a good review on the end of the page.

http://store.forcedperformance.net/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FP&Product_Code=NTGT3076HTA&Category_Code=Turbo-FP

I have built a few evo's with FP green HTA turbo's. They spools amazing early (1.5bar about 3600rpm) and the flow enough to get out 500hp (on the engine) with a serious built engine.

What do you think about a GTX3076R A/R 86. Perrin performace has done a very expressive comparing test. They has compared the GT3076r AR/86 with GTX3076r and GTX3582r, each with AR 0.63 and AR 0,82 turbine housing. The GTX3076r ar 0.86 spools equal early to a gt3076r, but it has much more flow in the top.

I think the GTX3071r ar 1.06 from mick will be very similary to ah GTX 3076r AR 0.86.
