Hey zoom appreciated hearing your experience with the GTX mate sounds like its a good thing cant wait till next week to get my car back and see how hard it pulls.

Sounds like your car spins wheels a hell of a lot haha just wondering what kind of diff and suspension mods u might have? Have u had and boost control issues with the smaller actuator?

No diff work just the suspension, just as whiteline swaybars, whiteline pineapple kit, camber upper bushes front and rear, tein super street (setting at 345mm front arch to wheel center). The rear camber i set to -0.5degree and toe in 1mm to give me more traction, while the front -2degree with 2mm toe in and maximum castor.

Never had any problem with the garrett 1 bar actuator. my old hks ecv3 seems to hold the boost pretty steady to redline, may drop like 1psi. It seem like come on boost reasonably quick.

previously when i installed the pomcams while with the gcg highflow, i have gained 400-500rpm. I don't know if the big actuator can actually bring the boost on earlier.

Got my car back yesterday unfortunately i didnt get a dyno sheet because ive got a boost control issue that i need to sort out and ive also got an idling issue  so the tune isnt finished yet

Yuvaz said i made 270kw @ 20psi which was a lil disappointing number wise BUT it feels unreal pulls like a freight train is very responsive and the sound is amazing!

Does anybody know where i could get my hands on some English instructions on how to setup a HKS EVC boost controller?

Haha nice! 320kw its a big juicey number but how long is a unopened rb25 gunna last with that kinda power? I have heard that the 250-270kw zone is the safe power limit? (so to speak)

mate some are good some dont last long..... i am from a drifting background so u can understand how we treat rb25s...(badly)

some of the racing guys have been making 550hp atw with unopened RB25, e42, gt35r, plennum and cams for 2 seasons... and i know of a couple rbs that have been making 450hp on pump fuel for 4 years....

its only like $1500 for a new one every 4 years.... but its a fun 4 years

Thats not a bad number at all Micko. Remember its just a number.

What is the idling issue? Is it mixture related? Remember it was playing games with us when i did the quick road tune

Hello miss sexy :P yeah the number doesnt mean a thing when the right foot goes down mate cos its a beast now haha! I didnt have the rocker cover breather plumbed into the suction line so its probably sucking air from there so thats something i gotta do this weekend to try sorting that idle out & so the process of elimination begins

It feels really good considering its not tuned properly Yavuz said hes got some holes to fill down low in the tune yet but once ive got the boost controller sorted

i set the controller to 15psi and i get around 19 or 20psi boost :spank: and that breather line hooked up it should be an hour on the rollers away from the tune being finished properly

Well ive had a few days of fun at this stage lol and im nowhere near those numbers so hopefully it will be 1 of those good ones that hangs in there for a while!:whistling:

Thats unreal 550rwhp on a stock motor thats awesome!

Testimate to how good nissans little RB's are!:worship:

Haha Andy exactly! Who cares if you got a car that drives like a million bucks on and off boost and puts the power to the ground nicely????

Its all bout the number isnt it? HAHA!

You can't dick schwiiing unless you have a bigger number Mick.

Who cares how it drives....sif that matters. :nyaanyaa:

well its not much fun telling people you have a 4 inch dick,

even if you can use it...lol

Haha now that would be impressive! yeah should be interesting i think you need to jump behind the wheel of my car when u get the chance Andy

4" across the eye?

Hopefully we can overlay our dyno runs in about 2 weeks.

    • So my R32 GTST has been sitting around at my old mum and dad's place for a few years now...and it's time to bring it home. Main issue I have is that she hasn't been started in about 5 years or so, so I'm not too keen on just kicking it over and hoping that RB20 reputation for being un-killlable extends to long periods of neglect. My plan is to get it running there so I can move it around,  then get it towed back to my place where I can start working on it properly. The old folks driveway is a bad place to start a project like that. I'm getting old too and also haven't stuffed around with cars since forever, so kinda learning this stuff again. So far I've siphoned out all the shitty old fuel and topped up the coolant (thought it was fully dry but took 2 litres to fill the radiator). Planning on hitting the rusty rotors with some brake cleaner in case the tow truck driver gets a bit gung ho loading it up. As far as oil, it's got plenty although it's now dark in colour and obviously needs a change sooner rather than later. Was doing some YouTube research and was planning to hand-crank the motor from the harmonic balancer with a 37mm socket and breaker bar, removing the spark plugs and spraying some "fogging oil" in the holes but there's not much room to get in there with the radiator fan right up against it. Jacking the car up takes too long and I can't leave it half done between visits. So now I'm was thinking of cranking a few times it using the starter (removing plugs and spraying oil first). Reckon there's any chance it will do more damage that way if something's stuck inside the motor? Should I really change all fluids completely before I go any further? Grateful for any other advice you guys have to get her going safely too.
    • Well, that's just wierd. Amongst a string of seemingly benign introduction and request for help threads, we have this one with a link.... to another, unrelated thread inside this forum. Colour me suspicious.
    • Sorry to say, I think that is a pretty long shot on this forum.....
    • sorry, "info" from Lumley here: https://www.lsvcarinsurance.com.au/about-nrma-insurance
    • So it looks like Lumleys are closing other than in Victoria, with the kind offer that another brand from the evil IAG multi-glomerate (NRMA) might offer insurance under their price and conditions if they want to, as an alternative. Lunmleys was good for us because they covered JDM and USDM imports, had 2 car "stable" insurance (ie, insure many cars but max of 2 can be driven at once), covered mods, reasonable overall prices. So, with them gone, who else should I consider? Shannons is last on my list, we used to be insured with them until we found they were helpful at taking premiums but much less helpful at claim time.
