Hello, I did do a search before posting this thread but I couldn't find anything specific on this particular topic. I have some surface rust on some underbody components on my R34 which I want to get rid of. I've read about people just using some sort of Rust-to-Metal converting product, and then you paint over it and BAM it's as good as new but I'm not too keen on that technique. What I mainly want to do is get rid of the rust altogether and then re-enforce the surface with some rust removal products.

I went to Repco and had a look at their range, they've got SHITLOADS of products but I didn't want to buy one without knowing what to get fully, because I don't want to miss a step in the process of getting rid of the rust.

AFAIK, do you basically sand the rust off until there's nothing at all, then primer it, then paint over it or do you have to apply some other stuff before using primer and paint?

If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be splendid! I just don't want the rust to come back after doing a shit job. :P

is the rust surface rust and gone through metal in places, if its minor rust, hit it with wire brush, use some rust converter, put some primer on and paint it, nothing wrong with this treating rust like this, u can finish it of by applying fish oil to keep rust at bay
