Question about importing vehicles/500,000Km tax (or something...)?

We I'm not sure if we have any experts here but I'll ask anyways...

First, what should I expect if wanting to import a US spec BMW into Japan? Whats the process like? What kind of cash will I need to make it legal, etc. My car will have too many mods to just sell it.

Second of all, I know there is some sort of fee on cars that reach x number of kilometers. What is that number and what is the fee?

Have you looked at BMW prices here? I have no idea how they compare to US prices, but they appear pretty good to me. Maybe you could just import the mods I don't know your car obviously, but it might be an option.
