So I'm in the newsagent expecting to pick up the latest copy of Performance Imports magazine and my eyes scan across a magazine with a white KPGC10 Replica on the cover. The magazine is called Retro Auto (by Performance Imports). My jaw dropped, as the cover car is exactly how my Hako will look once finished (I want mine to be white, 'cause the majority of others in Australia are Silver).

As a serious collector of anything Skyline (mainly Prince and Hako) and magazines (I have every issue to date of Nostalgic Hero, Old-Timer, Australian Classic Car, Performance Imports and more) i obviously didn't hesitate buying this one. It is Issue 1, which indicates that more will follow  There are some nice pictures of various JDM tin and a small writeup of The Classic Japanese Show 'n' Shine at Lakeside.

I will be back to the newsagent to buy another copy tomorrow, just so i can rip the centre poster out (Hako) and preserve one copy of the mag. In fact i will probably buy several copies so that i can give to some of my Japanese colleagues when i visit them in 5 weeks :whistling:

A quick trawl on the net to find out more about the mag shows this small review:

May not interest all, but for anyone who likes all JDM classic cars, it is well worth the buy. Hopefully they continue the magazine on a regular basis.

Worth keeping an eye out for future editions - one would expect to see more Classic Skylines featured!!

without buying the magazine yet, i can tell that most of those articles are probably reused from previous issues.

the carbon s30z, the white hako from america, the rwb ae86.

having said that ill still be buying this issue lol

Well spotted. It's a so hard to find pre 90's JDM in magazine form.

Another excellent read is Japanese Nostalgic Car (they have an interesting website as well). It's supposed to be a quarterly, but they don't seem to be churning them out even at that rate :(

I think on average is coming close to annual! But the issues they did release were great!
