Ok finally got around to uploading some in car vids...

First one is my fastest lap. As stated earlier in the thread some of the vid is washed out due to the exposure issues. Look out for the understeer of fail moment coming onto the straight

Sandown Fastest Lap

Next is the battle I had with an Evo and ended up out braking myself at the end of the straight...check the wing mirror to see how close he was!

Evo Battle

And lastly a bit of a fishy coming out of the Dandy Rd section...

Fishy

Enjoy :)

How is the bite on them?

I wasnt a fan of the Ferrodo DS3000

So thinking either Pagid RS29, or perhaps another pad.

Very good bite. Predictable. Can't fault them really. DS3000's to me seem like rotor killers. Pagid's are expensive I hear..

bugger about the camera! freakn washed out.

Mine from the same day, same camera, same position in the car. I have the metering setting set to 'spot'. I have also upgraded the firmware.

Yeah my Phillip Island footage was even worse! My metering was set to 'centre' and I have upgraded the firmware as well. What I might need to do is set the metering to 'average' or go for a drive on a sunny day to sort the settings.

hopefully this might help white out issue.

centre > often short for centre weighted, ie exposure taken from full frame including dark interior but weighted more to what is in the centre.

Spot > exposure is taken from a spot(centre)

looking at the footage where do you reckon the centre is? John's is the track, Ant do you reckon yours is the top of the dash? Basically I think I did the same thing at Sandown, centre was the dash resulting in over exposed track. At the last PI event, centre was the track and worked really well for the bright conditions. Mine is HD Gopro with firmware upgrade.

If only I could dashware or rachchrono dials to work without glitches for my gps data(10hz).

glitches? You have a qstarz 10hz? I have a older 5hz, but the guys use a 10hz and I have used their data before.

In saying that, R2AVI does crash and crap it self with the data sometimes,

The result is you have to export each lap one by one. It sucks when this happens. Generally later in the day, not sure if it is a battery thing.

HAHA! Nice catch

LOL the old battle between the brain saying GET OFF IT and the heart going for a quick time :) Meanwhile the eyes are going 'oh look theres a wall over there...wait, wait theres a wall over there too...'

As for the cameras metering I figured it was a case of the metering point being on the dash rather than out of the windscreen. Like I said I need to strap it in the car and go for a drive on a sunny day to get the settings just right.
